Pokemon Go!

What can I do with such a card?

And then, in other news. I've fff........finally accumulated > 400 Magikarp candies- it only took me since the inception of the game to accomplish this but hey, no judging. Now I have two prime candidates, one in the 93% - 96% range, and the other in the 91% - 96% range (both have been powered up twice to check if I can narrow down those ranges). Considering how long it took me to get these candies, is it worth it to evolve either one? What are the chances of landing a perfect IV 'karp? (I'm using calcy to check the IV's).

well if they planning on having another water event this year then might as well wait to see what you get before evolving.
i caught most of my magikarps during last years water event.

looking forward to the next community event on the 24th, dont have a proper dragonite so the dratini event is a godsend.
i dont get out much so hoping to attract as many dratini as i can with incense and use pinapp berries to maximise my candies.

Yeah same here. I have two less than perfect Dragomairs. Still want my Dragonite.

Is the water event a given, and if so, when?

no idea, i tried googling but seems not much info was released with regards to this years events.
i hope they do have it though, would love to have more water types.

Honestly, i'm not looking forward to the next community event, unless Dratini can be shiny. I'm half way to my 11th Dragonite, and really don't need anymore. The only good thing about it for me is the extra stardust.

damn! i had to walk with my dragonair to get enough candies to evolve into dragonite and it was bad iv's too.

i was just desperate to have dragonite i evolved the one dragonair i had :D

I have 2 Dragonairs, 903 CP / 91.1% IV and 890CP / 82.2% IV (using calcy).
That good or bad? :D

meh both seem decent to me, i know most people only evolve pokemon with above 90% but i'm not picky

These days i dont even use a IV calc, if the appraisal says "Its a Wonder" i keep for evolving, everything else gets transferred

The cards is basically just bragging rights as well as a way to show how all the trainers in the world are connected.

Plus they have the concept of a "League" they want to introduce

Will give my 10c regarding dratini and magikarp here. The rule of thumb i use for myself is basically this, if something is very rare, i try for a 96%+ one to evolve, which might take forever, but i would not evolve it, if it is under 90%. Common spawns like aron and such, i wait until i have enough mons to do a mass evoltion with an egg and only evolve "wonders" ie 80%+.

In short if magikarp is very rare for you, as it was for me, i waited until i got a good iv (98%) and the evolved it. To play devil's advocate here, remember that the difference in performance of a 0% VS 100% is about 3-5% in total, depending on mon, were as the moveset could make as much as 25% difference in damage output.

Anecdotal, before I started caring about iv's i hatched a dratini and forgot about it...turns out...i was walking around for months with a 100% without knowing it. Took even longer to get it to dragonite level.

Ps....not sure if it is fan made artwork, but if the community day artwork I saw is correct....there was a shiny dratini in that image...which will make it a very exciting day in deed.
Although...it is dratini...do you really need another reason to go out and catch arguably the games best generalist?

Does anyone know round about what time the event on the 24th will start and finish ?
I'm already out of balls and pineap berrys due to all these new gen 3 pokemon

The official GMT 0 time is 10am, so as we are GMT+2, it should start at 12pm and continue to 3pm.
Ps there is a local event at emmarentia dam with entrance fee of R20.

I would suggest prioritizing pinap usage to rare spawns ie bagon/beldum/ralts

No Sorry, someone only showed me a image of it.
But regardless spawns should be off the charts everywhere, so one does not necessarily have to grind there. I myself will probably not make it, as it is a 40km drive.
