I'm level 18 and it's getting ridiculous.

I have to use a berry and a great ball to catch Weedles - even then the darn thing still jumps out the ball

I'd be fine with it if the experience gained also increased but you keep getting the same as you did on level 1.

I wonder if Niantic will change the way that works at all?
They are going to have to do something.

As it stands though the game is possibly killed already due to bots. Two recent ones I saw:

- level 1-20 in just under hour
- rare sniping, basically just put in pokémon name and coordinates, boom, done. You have Snorlax, lapras, dragonite or whatever else you want.

I don't think an increase in xp per catch for each level - or each few levels - is too much to ask for.

Especially considering the crazy amounts of xp one needs to level at the higher levels.

Yeah that pees me off as well.
It's a bit silly actually, you get the same for catching a level 1 weedle that you would for a 2000cp+ dragonite. The weedle is worth more though because you can still evolve it twice. The dragonite is nice and all but effectively just becomes a gym warmer or big fighter.

I'm starting to like the "GPS not Found" message, it drops me in a location near to where I am that usually has this patch of grass across from my workplace. But caught nothing special yet.:D

Not wanting to sound stupid, but people do that O_O
It's like when people played on the gameboy emu's and they used that key trick to speed up the gameplay.

It will take me a long time to get to lvl20 but I prefer to play at the pace I am now and not cheat

Ok I have now lost my first three gym battles and need some help and tips please. Six +- level 300's of mine could not defeat even the first level 600-odd in the gym. Geez.

I managed to dodge once or twice. But that was about it.

1. It will probably help if I understand how to use the special power for each Pokémon. How long does it take for this to power up? When do I know I can use it? And how long do I have to hold the screen in order to use this?

2. I guess I will also need to take advantage of the strengths and weaknesses of different Pokémon's. Is there is an easy to use chart to show at quick glance which Pokémon is effective against which other Pokémon?

3. I would also like to know how to interpret the weaknesses, strengths and attacks of each Pokémon. If my Pokémon for instance say a water Pokémon - has a fighting standard attack and a dragon special attack, does this mean he will be effective against other with weaknesses against water ALL the time, and effective against other with weaknesses against fighting only when he used this attack during a battle, and only effective against other with a weakness against dragons when using his special move? And my Pokémon will only have the weaknesses of water Pokémon's?

I keep missing damn eevees.
Either I cant find there exact location, or they run away.
I hatched a 200cp one out of an egg and got 25 candies though, so I can evolve one, when I do actually get one that has a high enough CP

1. The blue bar underneath a Pokémon name. Once it's charged fully it will start pulsing. About 1s long tap is all that is really needed. Charging time is affected by hits (super effective base attacks will charge it quicker, and also the base timer which you can see by looking at the Pokémon stats)

2. Type chart:
http://pokemondb.net/type

3. Your Pokémon type determines you opponents attack effectiveness against your Pokémon. Your Pokémon move types determine how damage is dealt to your opponent (your attack type vs their Pokémon type). Hope this makes sense.

there is no idiots guide, but dont try and beat a water type with fire or rock type. try using electric or grass.

dont fight electric with water use rock

fight fire with water

fight rock wiht water

fight bug, grass and normal with fire.

if you have good ghost/dark attacks they are super effective against a lot of types.

the basic idea is, a 300CP sandslash can take on a 900 CP pincer/ jolteon.

also, look at the CP of the gym. if its a level 7 gym and you have 300CP pokemon, and the lowest pokemon in the gym is 1400CP arcanite, walk away.

I have found on the iOS version that switching your Wi-Fi on and off will have a big impact on your location, especially indoors. In the office I sometimes log in with the map not loading (water on whole screen), switch on Wi-Fi and there you go... Switch off Wi-Fi afterwards and you get all of that lovely "walking around while sitting at your desk" action.

Been doing the same thing on Android (S6). I'll sit at my desk with WiFi on, and be in the office. Turn it off and go on 4G, and I'm about 200m up the road where there's a Pokéstop. Rinse. Repeat all day. Hatch 5km eggs. Profit.

That is, of course, when I'm able to sign in. It's down again for PTC log ins it seems.
