Pokemon Go!

I chose the red team but all gyms around me in Bellville is red....Is that a bug or did the red team just take over? Also, how is there 2 to 3 different defenders at each Gym? How do I take their spot?

When you take over a neutral gym there are 2 spots. For additional spots you need to level up the gym by battling the pokemon already there. Once it hits the next level another spot will open up and you can place your one in there

No one seems to have this very important answer: Can I turn off my screen and still get vibrations & distance logged?

Vibrations but not distance.

For some reason they are very sticky about the distance thing, you must have GPS on and be traveling slower than a certain speed.

I keep on getting "GPS Signal not found" in red at the top. Dafuq? My location is switched on in Android. What error is this then?

Yes. Under options, there is a battery saver option. That turns your screen off when you turn your phone upside down, with headphones in you will hear a noise when a pokeman is near.

Read this online earlier :p

No, your screen is on with battery saver enabled, just a lot dimmer
The game does not work at all if you push the power button on your phone to put the screen off

So I'm guessing if you live in a remote area or small town no Pokémon for you?

Pokémon Go adds $9B to Nintendo’s value, global rollout continues this week

Nintendo rode the Pokémon Go wave that enveloped countries where it’s currently available this past weekend: The company’s stock price surged, raising its total market cap to $28 billion as of close of trading on the Tokyo Stock Exchange today.

...

Just how well has Pokémon Go done? According to Reuters (citing SimilarWeb data), it’s already been installed on over 5 percent of active Android devices in use in the U.S., making it more popular than Tinder. Its daily active user population is already larger than that of Twitter, and time spent in-app is around 43 minutes, per the SimilarWeb data, which is more than people spend in common time-sink apps like Instagram on Android.

Well played... now it will be targeted.

Got plenty of gyms in my area to take. Past 4 on my way home from work, distance of 3km.Still know where all the places are from playing ingress, so going to be easy to get all the stops

If you work in Sandton CBD there are a bunch of gyms & PokeStops. Think I saw the gym by Nelson Mandela square getting exchanged 3 times today.

Anyway, the servers are dying again. The Americans must be active again.
