I've used apkmirror in the past without issues.
 
What I'm curious about is why the game wants permission to access your contacts and media files? (2 out of the 4 permissions it asked for)

because trading is a feature they are building, and possibly because you have a hacked version of the APK that contains malware?

Got one in a level up package, thought "sweet finally got an egg!"
Then I read the description - doubles XP gained for 30min

I would recommend using it in conjunction with a Lure Module/Lure
 
I have done another round at work nothing, just a charmander yesterday and a weedle at home, otherwise nothing.... Not even a nearby

Let's hope not, but I doubt it. Same thing with the previous version of the apk.

I was trying very nonchalantly to walk across the office parking lot to get to a stop, and almost got mowed down by two excited people barrelling down the stairs, staring at their phones and jabbering about 'gyms' and 'upgrades'. I then shamefully stood at the stop and was unable to do anything as I had walked out of wifi range, and had no data.

I am in the apparently very fortunate position of having a stop active from where I sit.

This game... It's going to be the end of humanity, mark my words.

How do you guys level up so fast? I have caught 10 Pokemon but am only level 3.
 
Gah, there is a stop about 5m out of range from my desk, and someone decided that after lunch is a good time to drop a lure on there

catching pokemon, using pokestops, fighting gyms, evolving pokemon hatching eggs.

those are all the things that give XP.

if there are not a lot of different new pokemon around you , move around, take a short drive to a new location. go find pokestops.
when you get to level 10 or so ish then you drop a lucky egg when you have 100m left to go on 3 eggs. drop a lure on a pokestop next to a gym and between training all your pokemon at your own gym you evolve all your pokemon that you can while the egg is active.

suddenly BOOM level 15 half an hour later. and the SO goes from level 7 to level 9 without evolving anything or dropping her own lucky egg.
 
Oh and i forgot to ask What does the pokestop do? My girlfriend found one this morning right next to our house but we couldn't figure out what we were ment to do there xD
