Pokemon Go!

I read a theory on reddit confirmed by rural players, if you go somewhere where it's far enough away from any spawns, stops or gyms and you use incense you will get random/rare Pokemon because the area isn't specific to a certain type.

Multiple people did this and found everything from Gyarados to Electabuzz.

I read that thread as well.

basically use ingress, get to a point where you are at least 800m away from the closest spawn point. drop an incense, profit.

I have looked at ingress maps and google maps (google maps might have items that spawn XM that do not show up on ingress)
I found a spot that would work. but it is in Thembisa.s I am not risking that....

What do you mean, if you are talking about during a gym battle and you can see your Pokemon, the gym Pokemon and another Pokemon on the opposite side that means you and someone else is fighting that gym, I think four people can take a gym at the same time.

Yes, that is what I meant. Ok...weird...I normally see no humans around.
 
Visited the cape for a couple of days, got back yesterday. While there I went to the thirsty oyster in Gordon's Bay and managed to bag 5 Eevee and a really low cp Vaporeon in the time it took to consume 2 double brandy's and coke and a windhoek draft. Hope that helps anyone in GB.
 
Has anyone noticed a major change in Pokemon spawns? Usually at home I have 3 different types of Pokemon with a random rare one popping up from time to time, over the last 2 days I have had roughly 10 different Pokemon each day(definately not complaining that Zubats aren't all that's around lately.)

Also since the last update I have only gotten 2KM eggs?

I've also found a bigger variety at home.

But since the last update I've gotten mostly 5km eggs.
 
I have been getting 5 and 10K eggs.

and I noticed this week I get fewwer growlithe at work, still getting some of them but fewer.

not really getting a large spread either here or at home. Growlithe, sandshrew, ekans, Zubat, Paras, Meowth and Mankey is all I really see. I see some Zubat and Pidgey but not nearly as many as the rest

In the last two days I've caught for the first time Magikarp, Kabuto, Jigglypuff, Chansey, Magnemite, Voltorb, Magneton and Dugtrio.
 
I have had Bulbasaurs, Doduo's, Digletts, Sandshrews, JigglyPuffs, Clefairy's, Dragonite, (wasted 40 balls and still didnt catch it) Aerodactyl (No balls) and exeggcute (its somewhere, apparently)
 
someone in the Joburg group on FB just posted a screenshot of his best CP pokemon. 12 dragonites.

yeah you totally got that without cheating, we believe you...
 
With 12 Dragonites he is obviously botting that being said I'm not going to report anyone in my area even if I suspect them of doing the same, the person can just be lucky.

If someone is botting he will eventually be banned or be bored so he will go away at some point, I'm not risking reporting someone, ruining their fun just for being a high level with a Gyarados.

See the discussion a couple of posts up, if you are in the middle of nowhere and you use a incense any Pokemon can spawn, even water types even with no water around.
 
the reason I wont report anyone is because EVERYONE in SA is breaking the TOS by playing. all we need is one legit player who gets banned to point this out to the right person and boom we all start over when the Americans remember we are a country

But there is a MASSIVE difference between botting;spoofing and downloading the APK because the region is not supported yet.
