Pokemon Go!

People still playing this? I've kinda completely forgotten about it.

For the life of me I don't understand the sense and sanity in this. In fact when you stand back and look at seemingly mature humans running around "catching" invisible creatures that does not exist in the first place, it's mind boggling, it's absolute madness

When my SO hear or reads about the insane things people do in the world, she always says "people are bored". Maybe that's it.
The last time she made this comment was when she read this ;

Would you rather have us go to church?

Yup. Just got back from battling gyms to claim.

And we enjoy it.
So some people don't get it and don't want to give it a try. Meh their loss.

Some people watch the kardashians and buy kane West clothing, I'll rather chase invisible creatures. Somehow I think that makes me better at life then someone who watches the kardashians...
But that is my opinion

Not at all, I just think you guys are crazy and , well, bored
I think people who don't play have no imagination. But we are all entitled to our own opinions right?

Common curticy however does kinda mean that we don't go into threads we know nothing about and start ripping into people's hobbies. You don't go posting in the csgo thread that they are wasting their lives? So why do it here?

I agree. Not to worry though I'm not planning to carry on with this, just had to give my opinion, I felt the need.
By all means, continue what you do, it's entertainment for me. So it ends up being a win-win situation for all parties, right?

I've definitely been playing less & less of the game. Even when I was at 6/7 the grind was too much, with very little reward. I was seeing players 15+ holding down gyms, and know matter how much I try at that level to beat gyms it didn't matter cause they have high CP Pokemon. And if you join the game now, people are so far ahead it will be tough to catch up.

in conclusion: cheating, demanding grind and poor mechanics ruined

People do a lot of stuff that looks stupid to others:

Watch rugby
Play WoW
Watch 7de Gaan
Play farmville

I'm looking for a quick guide which lists which pokemon's are good as against which. Not something like Fire is good against ice. I need it by Pokémon name as I don't even know which type or combination of types each pokemon falls under and don't have the time to learn it all. Basically a quick guide, like: Arcanine: Not very effectives against: Psyduck, Poliwag, etc etc..

Reason being, when I arrive at the gym I want to battle immediately and not sit around doing research on what each of the gym pokemon's weaknesses are...

This kind of thing

So I read something interesting today about this game.

Since Niantic don't really have an End Game, when will yours be ?

Reaching lv40 ? Capturing all the pokemon ??

If you would have to restart the game (let's say Pokémon Go is released in South Africa, but all current accounts get banned), what would you do differently next time? I'm interested to hear from you guys.

I will:
1. Not waste stardust on low CP pokemon until I am ready for gym battles on levels 10+ and have identified high IV pokemon to spend this on.
2. Use my smaller eggs (2km, 5km) before my 10km eggs. I have seen that the best pokemon comes from these eggs. And the level of the pokemon hatched depends on the level you are when receiving the egg. So first use up those lower level eggs that don't give good pokemon and keep space for the higher level eggs. Currently I don't have any storage for more eggs and sit with a ton of 5km eggs while I already hatched my three 10km ones...
