Pokemon Go!

so i see it is now R299...online.
but when i wanted to get it for R150 ,i was refered tothe physical shop....

For the risk of quoting sensationalist ideologies......youtubers promote the whole "a dead game" notion and I never thought I would agree with them, but I recently realized that if there is no event running in-game, there is very little reason to keep on playing. My only goal is to fill those missing spots in my dex...and with things like unknowns which-almost-never-spawn and if-your-are-ever-lucky-enough-to-get-a-metal-coat...my enthusiasm to complete the dex...decreases with each passing day...even this thread has gone dormant...sigh

Possibly the next upcoming event information has leaked

Trainers,
With summer quickly approaching in the Northern Hemisphere and winter approaching in the Southern Hemisphere, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the upcoming solstices than with a Fire-type and Ice-type Pokémon GO event.
From 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 13 to 1:00 P.M. PDT on June 20, 2017, Trainers around the world will discover more Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Houndour, Ponyta, Swinub, Vulpix, and their Evolutions. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for Sneasel, Magmar, Cloyster, and other Fire types and Ice types!
It’s time to perfect your Poké Ball throws, Trainers! Throughout the event, you’ll receive huge XP bonuses for successfully catching Pokémon with Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws, as well as Curveballs and First Throws. Additionally, as you walk around your neighborhoods or discover new sights, you’ll earn even more XP for hatching Eggs. To help you take advantage of these awesome XP bonuses, Lucky Eggs will be 50% off in the in-game shop.
Get ready to explore the world around you—there are even more exciting updates coming your way soon!

Trainers,

We’re celebrating two amazing milestones—Pokémon GO’s one-year anniversary and 750 million global downloads—and you’re invited to join in on the fun! Over the next few months, we’re hosting real-world and in-game events planned alongside some very exciting new features that will get you outside exploring the world with family and friends. Get ready for an action-packed couple of months!

To kick things off, we will be hosting the Solstice Event starting on June 13, 2017. This in-game event will feature Fire-type and Ice-type Pokémon, huge XP bonuses for throwing Poké Balls accurately, and discounted Lucky Eggs in the in-game shop. Soon thereafter, you can look forward to a new update focused on collaborative group gameplay features that will get you playing Pokémon GO in fun new ways. In preparation for these exciting features, we’ll be temporarily disabling Gyms for a short period of time.

We’re also excited to announce our first ever real-world Pokémon GO event coming your way: Pokémon GO Fest Chicago! This event will take place in downtown Chicago, Illinois, USA at the beautiful Grant Park on July 22, 2017. Join us as we celebrate the Pokémon GO community with a ton of exciting festivities. Tickets and more information for Pokémon GO Fest Chicago will be available at PokemonGoLive.com/Fest on Monday, June 19 at 10:00 A.M. PDT, so make sure to mark your calendars and follow our social media channels to be notified when tickets go live! European Trainers can look forward to Pokémon GO celebrations hosted across the continent from June through September in partnership with Unibail-Rodamco shopping centers. We'll be posting a complete schedule for these events very soon. Also, The Pokémon Company is organizing “Pikachu Outbreak”, a Pokémon event in Yokohama, Japan, in August where they’re exploring a unique Pokémon GO experience. Stay tuned for even more details surrounding each of these events in the coming weeks.

Keep an eye on PokemonGoLive.com and our Pokémon GO social media channels for the latest news and updates surrounding the exciting features and events coming your way. See you outside!

8 shelder
3 seel
1 Jynx

wife saw a lapras on sightings, but it was on campus so she could not get there.

2x Shelder. Only things worth noting this far (I still don't have a Cloyster).

I've caught:

Plenty Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Vulpix, Shellder, Swinub, Seel.

And 1 Sneazel which was cool.

I ignore Charmander, Cyndaquil, Growlithe, Vulpix and Ponyta and I have for moths...
they are like Ekans/sandshrew/nidoran/snobull.

I get more exited for a pidgey or a ratata or even a zubat than any of the above.

I see so few of them in the normal course of events that I'm always happy to catch them.

The extra XP also helps a lot - ticked over to level 29 this morning.

Tomorrow is our 7 day streak. So lucky egg for first catch, and spin. And a few first ball catches and the wife might get to 31...

Nice :D

My 28 -> 29 journey took me a few months, I suspect 29 -> 30 will take about the same.

when I hit 29 I stopped doing lucky egg evolutions. and basically stopped trying to level so my wife can catch up.
unfortunately, I am now level 33 and she is 30.5

So those that play a lot - how many Pokemon have you caught?

My Collector stat is currently sitting at 3613.
