PSA today is the last day for Articuno. make sure you get out and get one if you do not have one yet.

tomorrow we start getting Moltres. that is when things start getting fun.

Luckily locked that articuno in today, scored another lugia in the process as well. Shout out to the sandton group, you guys are the true Legends....20 peep raid, never thought i would see it in my life.

it as upped to 3% on friday.

but basically.
ALWAYS golden ras.
ALWAYS curve ball.
great throw or better.

when repeating this process, in 6 balls, you have an 80% catch rate.
6 balls is the minimum.

in the pta raid group there is a girl.
in 31 legenday raids she has caught 1 articuno. that is all.
everything else has ran away from her.
she pretty much gets 8 balls or more in most raids.

In my opinion this over simplifies the mathematical equation, as firstly the ~20% calculation is based on the person actually having the said golden badge (ice) in articuno's case. Further this would imply that with each catch you have a greater chance than the previous, which is also incorrect as the catch rate stays the same. From my 6 articuno raids I have caught 1 averaging 10 balls per attempt, if the 80% statistic was correct I should have at least 4.8 articuno, but i do not, i have one exactly....hence you can do the number crunching, but the result remains the same, maximum chance of 23% odd if you can hit those excellents
 
I do not have the gold ice type badge.
but I have 6 articuno.
my wife has 9. and the 9th gave her the silver ice badge.

she is just better at throwing great balls than I am.
and we have only ever gotten fewer than 9 balls. and that was one raid in a instinct gym where we were the only valour. I got 1 damage bonus, and she got none. she had 7 balls and I had 8.

this chick in the PTA group at her 30th raid last night.
it took her half an hour to work though her 11 balls. she concentrated super hard. got 10/11 excellent throws. all golden raz. she has a silver ice badge.
it still ran away.

some raids you just dont have RNG on your side.

Well i couldn't catch either Lugia or Articuno. Hoping with the new ones I get to atleast catch one of them

PTA group going crazy.
people took leave for moltres.
one guy has done 5 raids already today.
its not even 10am yet.

come on 4pm so I can leave, and go raiding.
I see 10 raids happening before 8pm tonight....

Same, 4 cannot come quick enough. Sure the PTA group is going to be super full tonight, will need to split into multiple groups

the thing is, you can do 5 or 6 man groups if you have the levels.
so that way smaller groups give more balls for catching.

also, you can make 6 instict, 2 groups of 6 for valour and mystic. 30 person raids are not uncommon, and sometimes we even get to 40.
so a bit of communication before the raid starts to make sure everyone has the right pokemon, no one uses blissy, and yeah, 6 man teams should be doing this regularly.

Moltres counter should be a bit easier, as getting hold of 6 golems is much easier than 6 tyranitars for example

with raids I feel having 6 level 20 Ttar whith bite/stone edge is easy enough.
sure having 6 golems with double rock moves is easier (espesially in my biome....)
