Strangely I can also "complete" my gen 3 dex by getting Banette and Dusclop but i'm trying to extend the illusion a bit longer by hoping to catch those in the wild. I gave myself a challenge to obtain 1000 gastly candies during this event, but now ironically they seem to be substantially more rare than their gen 3 counter parts

Well, event has gone quite well for me.
I have already evolved 2 new high CP, high IV gengars, and 1 hypno.
I also caught a shiny Sableeye an hour into the event starting, which I was really thrilled about.
My next goal is to find a high IV and CP Shuppet and Duskull
 
all these new gen 3 stuff are low ivs, caught quite a few and not one has high iv.
on top of that my go plus is acting up again, not getting much worth out of it recently.

thankfully i had over a hundred pinap berries saved up when the event started so i've been using them on everything i catch and getting 12 candies each time.

i was lucky enough to be near a pokestop by a river for an hour so put on a lure and incense and got about 4 to 5 magicarp with pinap berries for more candies.
 
oh i also have all the special pikachu's now :D and also evolved each one to get the Rychu (sp) version of it.
when trading comes out hopefully they will be worth something.

I hate you as much as the shinies hate me at this moment. I swear this game has a shiny block on my account. Hatched (it feels like thousands of) pichus and no shiny. No shiny nothing. I bet when they introduce shiny rattata or pidgey i just might get one tho

I honestly thought I was the only one having high IV issues with these darn things, but clearly not. Caught 50 of each, and only 1 tier 2, no top tier gen 3, but have gotten several top IV gastly, hypno, and misdreavus.

Its my first shiny, and its not like I havent been trying, guess it was just my time for one.
 
that last update must of improved the gps accuracy :(
getting zero gps drift today at me desk, i usually get a few km's during work

ontop of that i'm literally a few feet away from a pokestop and cant spin it, its just out of reach! usually the go will get it but it hasnt today

From my experience the gps drift is determined more by the device and the network provider. For example I was initially using a samsung S4 and gps was horrible, so much that it actually exceeded the speed limit, resulting in no freebie kms. S6 edge is almost like being planted in cement, as i never get gps drift. Why network provider, if your device is set to high accuracy, it makes use of ip triangulation and this gets influenced by things like network speed/congestion and tower placement. Which for some reason always results in drift when i'm using vodacom.

I only have 1 and its male.

but I have been away for 3 days....

on that note, we got off the R21 and drove into boksburg at 21:10 on Friday night.

dropped a lucky egg for the wife and we drove slowly though rietvontein road, pinaping everything.

on one lucky egg, she completed Gen 3.
 
caught another one of those special pikachu's and its male :D
actually managed to catch a good iv Duskull as well so they are out there just very hard to find i guess.

BTW how's your catch ratio on go plus ? mine used to be 40% catch 60% runaway but lately i noticed 90% runaway :wtf:
this is on my drive into work when my go plus actually decides to connect and function properly

Caught a few male versions as well recently, but there must have been something wrong with the ratios for a while there.
Shamefully i'm probably one of the few that do not own a go plus (shock :eek: and horror :wtf:)
Watched a trainer tips clip which he indicated duskull are harder to catch, although i experienced it completely different, found them much easier to catch then shuppet, but then again i'm better at medium range throws than short or long distance throws.

On the plus side my resolution to not evolve one gen 3 mon and obtain them more "naturally" is going strong, caught a dusclops this morning...now banette....its on

Edit: Short throws would be classified as pidgeys, medium misdreavous and long distance rhyhorn/shuppet/dragonite

go plus catch rate is about 50%

anyone managed to solo any more level 3's?

last night I bailed on an alakazam that needed one more cruch from my Ttar with 8 seconds left because my wife was not going to make it. but I know I can do it now.

and this morning I did an Arcanine, simply to prove to myself that I could. my abundance of Arcanine is very well documented.

Shinies aren't such a draw card for me, maybe for the ones which i was a fan of like the red gyarados, but its not like the main series which it meant it was a perfect iv mon, which made it mean something. Now it simply a different splash of paint, some of them are even a bit lazy....looking at you jaundice pikachu.
