Pokemon Go!

This month (Saturday) Ingress FS and Pokemon community day are at the same venue - just different times. The Ingress starts at 10 with registration, Pokemon at 14:00

Just a quick reminder that EFT sales close on Thursday at 9 PM and that there will be no in person sales. Please make sure that you make your payment by then so that we can see your awesome selves at Ralts day.

the R10 raffle prize this month is a signed poster from go fest.

trntips, ReversalYoutube, ZoeTwo dots and Mystic7 all signed the poster. and are very excited that it is a CD prize.

there will also be a few Mirror cup tournaments between FS and CD for people hanging around between events. we will vote on what cup to use when people are gathered.
 
For the golf cars - R200 refundable deposit and R270 for 3 hours. Believe me - walking that zoo as much as we do gets tiring for the little ones (and the big ones too).

Take cash.. they don’t like keeping drivers for deposit and don’t do the hold on credit card.. so u need that deposit in cash.
 
Don't forget the community day today - it promises to be a lot of fun.
Sadly I am playing taxi so will be gone by the time most of you arrive.
Oh -- if anyone does want to do the Eevee evolutions - I bought two of the lures (Mossy and Magnetic) but will be putting them on around 14:00 at the restaurant. Will first check with the organisers of course - don't want to mess with their plans. May find that I have to set them off earlier if lures last longer

On that subject, of my calculations are correct... I worked out that you can earn max 36 600 stardust at a single gym by feeding the defenders.

To earn the full 36 600, you need a full gym of 6 'mon and you need to feed each one 10 berries without breaking the cycle - so switch to the next pokemon before the stardust counter disappears, while counting up to 10 berries fed to the active pokemon. Switch to the next one by tapping it's shadow or swiping the screen.

The first 10 berries earn you 1100 stardust (20 + 40 + 60 + 80 + 100 + 120 + 140 + 160 + 180 + 200), the next 10 earn 3100, then 5100, then 7100, then 9100, then 11100 for a total of 36 000.

You will need 60 berries to max it out. I'm going to make it my mission to try maxing out at least once at a feeding session lol.

Oh wow - your luckies !!!! And everyone told me feeding pokemons was a waste of time. Thanks - going to try that too
 
Not entirely how it works.

The items you recieve are stacked. So if you get 2 balls from a spin it won't show 2 balls it will show one ball with a small 2 next to it.

Dust rewards are also added together so you still only get 20 dust per berry but the second berry shows 40 dust. And so on.

Trust me I feed a lot of berries every day.

That is sad - but nice stats
 
you can feed 10 berries per pokemon. when you have fed 10 pokemon you hit your limit.

after 30 mins your count resets.

so you can get 2000 dust every half an hour provided you have enough berries. my rule is I only feed in non gold gyms and only when smoking.

i am running out of gyms in Pretoria that I am not gold in....

UI bug.. it’s 200/mon for 10 berries. Check your effective increase in stardust. Basically the echo back is the effective gain achieved in total thus far.. not per berry.

That being said I always feed rare Pokémon to gain candy and dust.. never really toss berries.

you feed the pokemon in gyms owned by your team berries. either you have to be in range of the gym or you have to have a pokemon defending it.

if you feed a berry to a mon in a gym there is a chance that you will get a candy as well as dust.

I know if I am making bag space by feeding berries, I focus on the non gold gyms first (feeding help go gold faster)
then when I need to feed the next 4 after I fed the first full gym I would rather feed the snorlax and Dnite than feed the Rhydon. ebcause I dont want more candy for those.
 
we did 13 in the hour, and were lucky enough to have 2 more hatch where we all parked just after 8, so in total we did 22 raids between 5 and 9. nice chilled evening. I only got one shiny, and my wife got none. but there is always tonight and tomorrow for the train. maybe we get to do more than 100 raids tomorrow. that is the plan at least.
