Poll sees thumping election victory for ANC

Agang is stupid imho, they should just join with the DA. Dr. Ramphele is just being hardegat not seeing the bigger picture.

With respect to Ramphele, I would dread seeing her anywhere near the DA. I do not trust her. She has tarnished reputation. She self centered and would flip to gain any advantage that suits her.

When you say "African" are you actually meaning "black", you do realise an African is anyone from Africa?

Black, white, Arab...

I think anyone wants to identify as African can be African. What was the "people vote for corruption etc because this is Africa" comment about though ?

how would I know who said that?

If you or he are referring to my post, I suggest you read again. It says pretty much the converse.

I presume he was expecting an answer to the part of your post that commented on corruption, I was just pointing out I hadn't made such a comment in the post of mine that he quoted and answered.

Yes, because 3,700 people surveyed represent a population of around 50 Million.

Only next week will tell.

Are you guys gonna play that one every time a poll pops up you don't agree with.Stop being ignorant all the time and do your research how polls are done.Yes,it is not cast in stone (something that's not even needed to say) but in most cases it's pretty accurate. There is nothing wrong with the sample size but you can however steer the poll to a certain outcome by the type of questions asked.

Also, not 50 million people but 25 million registered voters,of which an expected 19 million will vote (based on yes...another survey).

Please dude. Don't compare some unscientific research to basic mathematics. You said it yourself... In most cases it's accurate. Accurate compared to what? It's a guestimate at best. Look in the mirror before you start calling others ignorant. ;)

That sample size as a percentage of the expected 19 million voters (according to your source) equates to..

0.019% . You have any idea how small this sample is?

In perspective let's display it as a ratio - that would be 1:5135. For every 1 person surveyed, there's 5135 people expected to vote

You still reckon that will be accurate based on the numbers? Not saying things will not turn out that way, but just on numbers, would such a survey be deemed accurate? Justasking

As much as I'd like to see some significant change, the Anc rally on tv now doesn't show any sign of a weaker Anc. Exactly the same stale rhetotic too.

The size of your population doesn't matter in polling and your sample size is not calculated as a percentage of population.

My 19 million comment was just to show the poster that SA doesn't have 50 million voters...registered or unregistered.

Hence the lack of any actual useful statistics in most polls.

And your ignorant comment?

As much as I hate the ANC, I'd rather see them in the pound seats, than the EFF...
