1.4 Polo 6 Comfortline VS 1.2 TSI Polo 7

Which would you choose. I am thinking of returning my 8 month old polo 6. Should i get my banker on the line ???

64kw vs 66kw
132nm vs 160nm
etc

Are you unhappy with your car? Do you have money to waste? Why not trade it in when you don't owe more than what its worth (normally at between 3 and 4 years) and get a Polo 9 1.2TSi with 90kw...

Both models are 5th generation (internal name 6R). The TSI version is a facelifted version. I would keep the current one - you're just going to take a depreciation knock again if you upgrade now.

The guy at the dealership says they can settle my current debt and i start from scratch of which i don't mind as long as i am paying less than what i am paying.

I am happy wit my current car, consumption, insurance and performance but all that can get better ... way better.

also i didn't include a service plan when i got it and the new one comes standard with a service plan

i would only upgrade if you afford the 81kw one.

Saw a new polo tsi today , looked basically the same.

If absolutely no financial knock go for it, 8 months more warranty and whatever...

I doubt this though... Makes no sense how he won't take a financial knock. Dealers probably want to just re-finance the deficit on top of the new models amount and then whip on a massive residual to make it appear cheaper per month.

To the OP...rather keep your current vehicle. It is always so tempting to upgrade to the facelifted model, as the saying goes in Afrikaans "jou gat jeuk"...but in the end it hurts you financially, trust me. Especially since your current vehicle is less than a year old.

I like the new TSI petrol engines, they will certainly perform better than the 1.4L and 1.6L units they replace. And to have the option of a DSG gearbox on the 81kW Highline is brilliant, I for one would enjoy that.

I am just disappointed in that silver middle console. It looks very tacky and cheap. There are some pics on VWSA's site which show some models with a dark middle console - does anybody know if you could specify the vehicle as such? According to the specs, the silver is standard.

Also, the 77kW 1.6 TDi will be replaced with a 66kW 1.4 TDi version...if one is in the market for a diesel Polo, I would rather grab a 1.6 TDI "last stock" at a discounted price than go for the facelift.

So i got a quote on the Highline DSG, chose some extras and did some calculations: turns out my intallment wil increase by roughly 1000K tops and finally came to the conclusion that

I am not upgrading :(

Wait, you want to lose money on your original purchase to make more dept on your new vehicle for 2kw increase?

Please tell me I'm wrong

@OP

What is your current installment you paying on the Polo?

thing is Polo 10 may be just around the corner and it was preferable to wait

LOL

It costs me R3700 odd for my current car per month,

My car will be settled. I would have had to start a new debt of R270K initial balance. I can however drop the installment by getting the comfortline but that wont be much different to my current car, so id rather keep it.

Polo choice

I'm glad to see that sanity has prevailed! :D

I think its worth swopping the polo 6 for the 7 even if the diff in installment is about 1k more max, for the simple reason that the fuel economy on it is about 3.8l/100kms.

If you're a man that does high mileage like me, it actually works out cheaper on the long run.

And the bells and whistles - newer car, newer model, fresher interior with touchscreen! and upgraded fogs!

Ambitious. I know they've done some amazing things with the newer models, but that's what I get (barely) with my Polo Bluemotion with some very creative driving. It will be closer to 4.5l-5.0l/100km under normal "civil" conditions, I think.

There is no way you will get that sort of consumption... add at least 1l/100 kms to that value and you will be in the ballpark

My g6 tsi dsg is avg 6.8l/100km, that's conservative driving. I don't see they can make petrol much more efficient.
