Polo vs Fiesta vs Corsa

OK We are at sea level so the Swift doesn't have to breathe too hard.
Nevertheless, when one looks at operating costs , driver comfort, running costs, and fun on the road keep your cars --- our drivers select the Swift.

We have a deal with our drivers that they can 'inherit' their cars after a specified time and mileage.
This means that they are given their cars for a minimal cost, taking running costs into account. The running costs include purchase price and keeping the car on the road.,
Like me, they all want a Swift!

So, if Zila wants to choose something else, it is his prerogative.
 
I guess looks are a factor. The Ignis is an eyesore and the Baleno doesn’t know what it is (for me anyway) which leaves the Swift as the only option.

I test drove opel corsa enjoy at Williams hunt Randburg, so far I am impressed, the power and the features :).
Its a 2018 demo with 48000Km on the clock, going for R175k.
Comes with a balance of 5yrs/90000KM service plan and 6yrs/12000KM warranty.
Is that price good for that mileage?

They also have lower mileage with the same spec:
  1. 2018 demo with 25000Km on the clock, going for R189k
  2. 2018 demo with 13000Km on the clock, going for R199k
Which one would you go for?
 
Which variant didyou drive? Engine and Spec level?

a demo model with 48k km on the clock? imo im not a fan of demo's because the amount of people who have driven it and not owned it means they didnt give a toss. the sales man took it away for the weekend, 10 people drove it who are still learning to drive it and rode the clutch all the way etc. no thanks. a demo to me is imo under 5-10k km

A demo that has done 48,000km in one year?
That's some serious demo mileage.
In my book that's no demo; that's a car that has been driven in its moer.

I don't like opels usually, but had a drive in a new astra last weekend, the interior is not a bad place to be. If the corse is anything like that, at that price, why not. But not the demo you are looking at, that mileage is to high. Maybe the other demo at nr 1?
 
+1 for corsa
I drove one of those old tortoise looking ones for about 10 years and maintenance was minimal.

Polo = Boring, stolen / hijack risk / easy double the insurance
Fiesta= they Burn. Can we trust Ford. Get ready for insurance to exclude fire.
Corsa = we will be seeing a post " ihave a problem with my corsa"

Get a kia Rio /Suzuki etc

A polo is boring, but a Rio not. Weird person. Rio looks more boring than any of his suggestions.

That's what I don't understand. According to many my car is boring personified, worse than a polo even, for me it's fine. It's gets me to where I need to be in comfort, with no issues while using very little fuel. What more do you need for day to day?

My SO old polo cost R600 a month to insure, if they charge you that for a polo it's probably more to do with your profile than the car.

Boring, fun car to drive, and all the other over hyped words people hear from motoring journalists and then use them to appear woke, that is why no one can ever explain what is a boring car.
