Pool experts needed

Well, I got some ascorbic acid powder from the chemist....sprinkled that on the top step and now the yellow stain has gone....only to be replaced by a fkg black stain now...After doing some reading it seems the water has a high concentration of copper in it...

Ad ideas anyone on how to fix this? Or should I consider draining the pool...acid washing it and refilling it?

I told you yesterday already its copper from the ActivatorD. The black stain will disappear by itself, don't know about the yellow.
First get metal remover and follow instructions. Then leave it for a week and see what happens with stains before you go drastic.

I linked what you needed

I did use one of those yesterday....should I get another one? I cant really gauge the amount of liters in the pool as its like an egg time shape.
Might need another one but generally it doesn't clear immediately, for my green stains it took about a week. Maybe more, but it did start disappearing, just try not use things like activator D and blu 52 to often.
A stabilised, balanced pool with chlorine levels correct will generally do.
Only requiring drastic measures when those go out to often.

If you're anywhere near Northclliff speak to Moya at The Pool Place near Cresta.

Just a warning they might not answer the phone on Saturday because the shop's so busy.

Thanks, did you also use any of the HTH stain lift stuff? I chucked 2 packets of that in yesterday as well.

I'll pick up another metal remover tomorrow and see how it looks at the end of the week as I will be away for a few days so I should be able to see a difference when I return.

Did you only start adjusting your chlorine once the stains were gone?

All the people using the activator D....How often do you use it?
My said said to use one at least once a month?

Nope just the metal remover, no other stain remover. Though mine wasn't as bad as yours, I picked it up when there were a few green stains in spots.
Chlorine I kept at normal levels, only spiked it when I need to get rid of algae, which does happen when I get lazy or over really cloudy weather thanks to not running the pump during it.

Don't just keep throwing stuff in at random you will mess with the balance. Leave things as is for a week and then see if the stain is still there.
Yup best advice, you'll also not know what worked and what didn't.

Stop putting all those weird and wonderful things in it... just take a liter of water down to your pool shop and they will analyze it in 1 minute with their fancy machine.

You really only ever need chlorine to kill everything, with bicarb and acid to get the right Ph level... that's it.

Oh and for those or anyone wanting bicarb of soda <-- which is "alkalinity up" you know the 1kg packet that the pool shops or any shops sell for like R50... Just go to Bake-A-Ton and buy 10kg for R198 <-- R19 a kg!

Bloody pool cartel I swear!

I once added copper something to trace a leak. After that pool water react bad, went to a pool shop. They told me to removed the water and refill. That was the cheapest option back then.

Ja. That hasnt been much improvement so draining, cleaning and refilling are looking likely next week.
