Poor DSTV Content

Is also don't find the content that bad but granted I have a life and only watch 1 hour a night. Luckily we live in a Commune so it costs me about R50 a month if I was living alone I would not be able to justify the price.

I'm pretty sure that if you took the R700pm DSTV fees and added it to your current ADSL costs, you could get a 10mb uncapped bundle from afrihost. I did.

Have you not heard of TopTV?

Their top end package is a third the price of DSTV.

And they're gonna have a prepaid option soon:

If you think repeated content on Dstv is bad then try Top TV. Between Fox, FX, and Top One there are about 6 hours of new content a week (and I'm counting stuff like Martha Stewart). Presently there is NO new content on Discovery Science. Fox Entertainment has been repeating the same 6 seasons of the Simpsons in the same time slot since they began more than 2 years ago. You would get about 10 times more new content even on DSTV Select. Guess which channel I watched the most new content on with Top TV? SABC 3! Needless to say I've cancelled Top TV.
 
BBC and Discovery might be supplied by a third party, but Multichoice choose to air it. They are milking a cash cow in SA since many people are poop scared to go out at night and watch the stuff on DSTV.

In New York there are over 800 channels, but even bigger rubbish than on DSTV. In NY they have channels that specialise in re-running old series, even stuff from the 1980's. Someone will always watch it. And 12 different shopping channels selling inane garbage

Okay. That was a rather delayed response. I mean, you've already posted stuff yesterday, after my comment you just quoted.

Are you asking me to stop charging so much? I didn't charge anybody anything...
