Hi There,

Im currently accessing the web via my cellphone (Samsung G600) through Vodacom EDGE/GPRS.
Browsing the web on the pc gives me an average download speed of 5KBps which is equivelant to a 56Kpbs dial-up modem, although it's connected at 460.8kbps and connected to the EDGE network on the phone. This seems very slow to me.

Is there any way that I can increase the connection speed? Is there settings in Windows I can change to help boost performance?

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks!!

i've seen GPRS only phones wich do around 5-9kb per second download speeds.
Motorola C351 or one of those cheapie phones. Its all gotta do with the signal quality.

I would recommend you stay away from any software or settings to "tweak" windows for improved connection, they don't work and they don't work, it only messes up your registry most times, where these settings are changed.

For a solution, check out www.onspeed.com and download the trial, the reason why onspeed works is because all traffic gets routed through the onspeed servers, so it's not a tweak, it's fast servers you connect to and which are optimised for low bandwidth connections.

ciao
