Poor Vodacom Support

Hi guys. I didn't know really where else to go.

I have been experiencing an issue with Vodacom Fibre over the Octotel network for a while now. Countless calls with the Frontline support but they really don't know how to resolve my issue.

I have worked as an call centre agent for an ISP before but we were based in Australia. I don't really know much about the networks here in South Africa but it seems pretty much the same. A pit outside, connection coming into the house and to the ONT.

Now I had my services with RSA web before but then terminated my contract. I then went on to sign up vodacom. So I asked them to move it a different location so that I can get better signal across the house. I asked them to move it centrally and that is what they done. I noticed when they were installing the connection elsewhere, instead of connecting a new fibre optic they used the connection from my precious ISP and then like extended it. It's like you connecting 2 cables and then using an insulation tape to it. I had a hunch that this is not a good idea but the installation tech advised me that I won't get any issues.

Fast forward 2 weeks later I started experiencing dropouts. I told Vodacom about this but all their trained on is to reset a connection. I asked this matter to be escalated to Octotel but they told me that it would first need to be escalated to their T2 team. The Tier 2 themselves are just as incompetent as the Frontline support. I have an open ticket for over a month and no update from the team.

I want to see if there is anyone that can help me about the situation. I tried installing different router and tried to configure the PPPoE connection but it never seems to connect, so I can't really tell if this is a router issue or the actual connection. I have a feeling it could be the connection but I could be wrong.

It is called fibre splicing. If done correctly with the correct equipment it should not be a issue. I don't see a taped together cable in your pics.
