Porn and your brain.

I know of a few marriages that where broken by porn screwing the mans head around. It creates expectations and is often very "extreme forms" of sex and men then demand their wives perform to the level of the professional actors doing it on their monitor. Also they tend to compare their wives to the airbrushed and professionally make-upped artists and get disappointed that their wife who's body has given birth too two children already does not look as firm as his favorite porn star. Seriously, I know that for some people porn may not have much of an effect, but for many it does actually damage your odds of having a normal long term relationship. Thing is people don't realize this when they are young and porn is so alluring. Its later on when you have been married a few years and neither you or your wife is 25 anymore and the wife is struggling to loose the baby weight and get a decent night's sleep that it will catch up to you. Hence I am mostly against porn as evidence seems to indicate that in the long run its overall affect is negative on preserving marriages. Also there is a chance you could get addicted to it like David Duchovony and it screws up your relationship and eventually your marriage.

Women shouldn't be so upset about porn. It has the same effect on men as hollywood has on women. It sets unrealistic expectations. :D

How often does that really happen? Or are these women who think anything other than the church approved missionary position is extreme sex?

Well then let's go after women's magazines too. And men's magazines.

She can go to the gym and eat properly. It might not be easy, but then even men have to work at staying in shape. I can just as easily contend that porn is an excuse, used by whichever partner is complaining, to justify why things have gone wrong. So they don't have to accept their part in it.

Funny how that "Your Brain on Porn" site presents only one side of the argument. It's almost like they have some sort of agenda.
Of course they have an agenda. Being anti-porn is big business.

We should.

But I hear what you are saying about "prunes" and their idea of extreme sex. Still, some of the things those pornstars do is crazy and it can't be a healthy habit to watch stuff like that. Some people are very unstable, angry or frustrated and this extreme sex can make things worse.

You should read what some of these ex-pornstars (young ones that are not past their sell by dates included) have to say about their experiences. Drugged up on painkillers for those anal scenes, gonorrhea or other STDs every 6 months. Its a filthy industry that should be stopped IMHO.

20 min btw

What about other types of films? Stuntmen often end up with permanent injuries (just as an example). And those films are also often unrealistic and contain extreme events.

Do they endanger themselves or others? It's not the rapist/sex offender that will get injured, but the victim.

A better example would be violent movies where people shoot the **** out of each other. Maybe the same can be said about those but I doubt it. Sex is something that a person is much more connected to than violence.

Better control over porn on the internet will be a great start (I know we can't make it disappear). Simply displaying a "confirm you are old enough to watch this" link is just inviting 13 year olds to watch it. So how do you stop that? Censorship...

Which brings up other issues... It's a mess.

I haven't watched porn in 2 weeks. I saw our receptionist's cleavage today and I jizzed in my pants.
