I was wondering if anybody could offer some insight into my problem.
I'm running a PC, recently reinstalled with windows 7 Home Premium. Comodo Internet Security 2013 Pro. I connect to my router via wifi. The router is Dlink DSL-2750u. I updated the firmware yesterday. I've got a 10Mbit/s ADSL circuit that has been tested by telkom and is working well with low noise, high sync rate.
My problem is that I am restoring data from Crashplan.com because my hard drive crashed ~ 800GB. This connection is me --> 50.93.246.62:443. This connection / port is shaped at 2Mbits/s. It never ever goes above that and usually sits at 1.9mbit/s
My ADSL line and ISP was with Axxess. I switched to openweb after I found out that Axxess has been managing my line speed for an indefined period of time without telling me and without being able to provide any reason for the shaping.
At Openweb I signed up for their "game's bling..." account which gives you shaped / managed bandwidth after hours / weekend and whatever they can manage during peak hours. I've been really happy with them because I've been able to get full line speed for all the updates / software I needed to reinstall.
However this crashplan.com connection shaped at 2Mbit/s.
I've contacted openweb and they have been very helpful. They've moved my account around, closed and openned it, assigned a different account, etc to no effect.
I've contacted telkom to no effect
I've contacted crashplan to no effect - they are not shaping the bandwidth.
I've attached the tracert below.
Please could somebody advise / provide insight into why this particular connection / port is shaped and if there's a way around it?
