Hi there guys.

I am new to the world of ADSL, as I have been staying in an area that telkom wont replace line ( as usual). But have finally moved.

I have put through an order with mweb for the 384Kbps uncapped account but when They called me the guy said that the exchange is at 15% and they dont add anymore if it goes below 10%. That is the port availability.

Does this mean that the ports are almost exhausted? And if so, how will this affect my bandwidth?

Any help on the subject would be appreciated.

yeah man should be your ports available, it could make it tad slow at times, though 384 will be easy to get .

rather get that dsl port before there is nothing left.

It will not impact on your service at all.

iirc they keep a few ports spare for maintenance purposes, i.e. if a port goes faulty they switch it to a spare working port while they replace the faulty port.
