If one has a router and IPCop setup. Do you need to port forward on the router and IPCop or just IPCop?

if your router is set to bridge mode [ ipcop dials the connection] then port forwarding is only set in ipcop, but if your router holds the connection then you can set DMZ to forward all port requests to ipcop and then set forwarding from ipcop.

Ipcop port forwarding behind router

I have Ipcop behind a router and a webserver behind ipcop. My question is what the exact setup should be. This is my setup

router:192.168.1.1
ipcop red:192.168.1.2
ipcop green:192.168.0.1
webserver:192.168.0.77

For setting up port forwarding in the router do you set it up to point to:
a. ipcop red
b. ipcop green
c. webserver
?
Any help would be appreciated

It depends on what is establishing the connection. If the router is establishing the connection, then you should forward from the router to the IPCop.

If IPCop is establishing the connection (ie, using PPPoE), then ignore the router and just forward on the IPCop.

You only need to do port forwarding on the router if it makes use of the built-in firewall.

Ipcop router port forwarding

The router establishes the internet connection. What makes logical sense to me is that the router should forward traffic to the ipcop red interface. Ipcop should then forward traffic to the webserver. The only problem is that this does not seem to work.
