Just a quick question for all the experts out there. I normal portforward on normal ADSL routers with success, howevere this is the first time that i am trying to portforward with a mobile connection. I am using a Netgear DGN2200N router, which will utilise both normal ADSL and you can plug in a mobile broadband modem. The portforwarding works flawless on ADSL, but when i use the mobile broadband internet on the router, it does not. I am merely trying to portforward for a RDP session on a pc. So my question is, are these ports blocked on the cell phone providers side. I have tried both cellc and vodacom with no success

You need to use an unrestricted APN.

Don't know about MTN, Cell C etc but with Vodacom you need to fill in an application, takes a day to set up.

Thank you biometrics. Any idea where you can get the form from. Is there an online form ?

Thanks again for the quick response.

I used to just Google it but can't find it now and the old links are now invalid, the site must have changed.

Try email them: [email protected]

i think cellc is trialling an unrestricted apn, i think it's a sticky under the cellc section.
