I apologise if this has already been covered but I have scoured the forums and couldn't find anything.
We had a normal landline that was connected to copper. When Telkom decided to replace the copper line with fibre they obviously did away with the normal fixed copper landline and gave the neighbourhood FLLA phones with a Sim card which had the landline number on it.
The issue now is that the Sim only connects to 3G and to make matters worse the mobile Telkom connection in our area is mostly sketchy. There's times when the phone will be fully charged and I will call it whilst standing next to it and it will just be dead, no ring on either end. Many people can't get hold of us too. My folks friends are all old school and still use it more than whatsapp.
The question is can port the Telkom landline number directly to a prepaid Vodacom/MTN Sim. So in essence I keep the landline number on a prepaid Sim of either Vodacom/MTN and just top it up with airtime and people can still phone on the old number?
