Portable Power Stations

@zolly - I'm wondering if the ecoflow solar panels will work on another brand inverter trolley with a solar charger? Are the cables unique to the ecoflow units?

They are standard solar panels. They come with a MC4 connectors, so it just depends on the trolley and what connectors it has. You could probably get adaptors as well, but obviously I don't know that for sure.
 
Now that I have my solar installed I have a River Pro + Extra Battery and a Gizzu 300W power station which are going to sit in my garage gathering dust. They came in really handy though, but wonder how much I could resell the Gizzu for. I'll keep the Ecoflow as it's useful having it in a pinch.

I have seen a ton of people asking for the extra battery on the official Facebook group. Apparently these are discontinued since the River 2s are coming out but people didn't know so they didn't buy when stock was available. You might be able to get most of your money back on it if you don't need the extra battery.

if you decide to sell the river pro, I'm interested :)
On another note, what did you run on the River Pro? Did you run your fridge etc on it?

Hmm, interesting. That might be something I'll look at listing on Carb then. I don't really need it.

Don't think I'll sell the River Pro, it's too cool to sell.

It ran my server and network rack during outages, a pretty consistent 230W of load. Funny you mention the fridge as I plugged it in to my Samsung fridge yesterday for the first time to see if it could handle the startup current and it did it just fine, that was just for a few minutes to check the load.

cool, interesting. The ecoflows does look cool, I see onedayonly running a special for the River Max for R12k, very tempted to get one.

The new River 2s are coming on the 16th. If you're in the market wait for those to hit. Also Bluetti are very competitively priced and are also Lifepo4, but some of their models are a little bit older so don't have the full feature set that the newer Ecoflow devices do.

Ok so it turns out that they are out of stock on those and just didn't send it and probably hoped that I would not notice.
They are now asking me to buy it somewhere else and they can refund me for R299.9 - R449.85 once I sent them a copy of the invoice.

I don't know where else to buy these.

weird, maybe you can just buy generic ones from Sustainable or somewhere else?

Seems you were right, I had a guy contact me a few hours after I listed it on Carb. He said he'd come by tomorrow to come get it.

Made my first stand for my solar panels. Going to make my second one today. Will probably put together a basic set of instructions and upload them here now that I figured out the one or two quirks with the first build.

Edit. Just noticed the one hook in the bottom left is looking less than happy. Will need to give it another healthy dose of PVC glue and let it dry again. Might just drill holes and pull the rope through for V2.

What about some guy ropes with pegs in the ground like a tent so the wind doesn't blow it over?
