I read 2000 cycles, not 3000. Is that for a different model?

Also it says the fan only runs when charging or with a heavy load - does that just mean it's on practically all the time? It would still be quieter than a generator at least.
 
I’m looking to purchase one of these portable power stations to power a monitor and laptop during loadshedding. What would be the best practice with regards to preserving battery life? Do I charge the unit when loadshedding ends of do I wait until its depleted to 20% and charge it then? Thank you in advance

Sorry, it says 4000 cycles, not 3000 cycles Even better! My question too re keeping it on the whole time They advise to keep it running the whole time as it is programmed in that way Im not so technical - it has to do with the cycles ?? I dont know I switched it off this weekend when there was no load shedding The battery was fine and still fully charged I am happy to include the whatsapp from them I used this nr for questions 0763142908 Maybe it makes more sense to you

Do you mean switched on the whole time? My Gizzu mini ups was witched on the whole and after 2 years it now barely lasts an hour How does the charging work for Lifepo4?

Its a big step up from lithium.

Like, if I completely discharge my bluetti twice a day for the next 3.5 years I will have 80%capacity left in the batteries.

Charging between 20-80% and not too fast would be ideal. For the Ecoflow 2 Delta the optimal longevity setting for charging is 500Watts although the device can recharge at up to 1200Watts.

So as long as you stay within 20% (even 10%) minimum and 80-90% you'll be fine. It's probably not so bad to overcharge the battery i.e. to 100% as it is to let it go below 90%. The Bluetti Li-NCM models which are not LFP have >1000 cycles longetivity and they hard disconnect the battery if it drops below 10% remaining capacity.

Try to not overheat your battery as well.

not to nitpick but LiFePO4 stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate.
It's still a lithium battery, but using a different metal (iron instead of nickel) on one of the electrodes. (Can't remember which lol)

Takealot has jacked the prices of the Delta 2's by a lot. The MSRP is R24,999 but I see prices in excess of R32K.

Cathode. The anode is carbon based.

That's not takealot, that's 3rd party scalpers on takealot trying to make a quick buck while local stock is running low (they are now out of stock at Rectron).They are still 25k on EcoFlow's website.

Haha :). Yes that's true. Takealot does get a percentage cut though, so they do benefit but indirectly. :)

Does Takealot not have any blame here? (genuine question).
I have no problem with their service, but I do check prices carefully. Even the discounts are often not discounts.

I pay R100 for something, two days later it's R200, and then it's R150 and labeled 25% discount. Haha
 
Our fiber, router and 2x ubiquiti APs are plugged into a multi-plug which plugs into a wall socket behind a cupboard. When power goes off it's awkward to reach the multi-plug and move it to the Ecoflow - and then do it in reverse when LS ends.

Can I safely plug an extension cable into the wall socket, run it around the cupboard and then plug the multi-plug into that, at least the connection would be more accessible?

Don't want to blow anything up :D

I'd have done that a long time ago. I (or at least my uncomfortably rotund torso which I blame on lockdown) am allergic to crawling into or under desks and cupboards.
