Portable Power Stations

The company is legit and the product is good, but their email teams seem to be scattered globally and its a mess. Either msg them via their Facebook page or join one of the local Facebook groups for support.

I think they're a sh-t company. Honestly starting to think this. Looking at their promo images, have you see the batsh-t images on their website? Nah. I emailed them again.
If they can't do email and they charge R39K for a 2KWh solution, they're bad.

Joining facebook is not an option. Never had to do that with any company under the sun. Not gonna bend over for them.

About Ecoflow.

The South African support email is worth sh-t. I suppose either our people are asleep here or maybe they don't care so much about SA, funny Ecoflow is a Chinese company, so much for the BRICS (let it be a lesson in realpolitik and China will always choose America over South Africa.)

Anyway, here is the response from [email protected] so likely Ecoflow US support (likely also Chinese staffed)

The charging logic for the power station+ EB is that the one with the lowest voltage level will charge first then when both the power station+ EB are at the same voltage level they will continue to charge together. As for discharging the one with the highest voltage level will discharge first and till both the power station+ EB are at the same voltage level they will continue to discharge together.
Please keep in mind that the voltage level isn't displayed anywhere, so in normal cases there will be a difference between the main unit and the extra battery (about 10% or so).

If you think this is troublesome, please upgrade the firmware to the latest version.

Please also do three times SOC calibrations to check if the situation has improved. Once SOC calibration refers to setting the charging level to 100% and the discharging level to 0% on the APP, charging the unit until there is no input (200W load is recommended), and then discharging until it shuts down automatically.

So it seems that Ecoflow devices don't talk to each other. The cable has a data link in it, but it seems that the thing is not well designed or programmed and you may wear out your main unit while your spare battery idles.

Got the Ecoflow Delta 2 from a small electronics store in CPT. Cost R18500. Was sealed in box with full guarantee.

Got mine at the MSRP of R24.999 at Incredible, although back then TAL sellers were selling them for R36,000.

That's a good discount. These things must be really cheap wholesale.

They're R12499 at the little electronic store across from Checkers in Baywest mall, PE (I can't remember the name of store, but it's the same place that sells all the DJI stuff for anyone in the area).

I mailed them again. With such poor response one wonders what value the 5 year warranty is and also what value the "firmware" upgrades are. They may all just be cosmetic BS.

Hopefully they reply soon but their lack of support is why I didn't buy Ecoflow.

Went for a Jackery with old tech but spectacular back-up.

Can't possibly be the Delta 2. Most likely the River/River 2.

That's a little bit less than what I paid for my Ecoflow Delta 1 back in 2021. I paid about R19k at the time.

Care to share so people can go shop at this place?

Nah. I emailed them again.

Keep on smashing your head against a wall then. I gave you the solution for quick support but if you have time to waste that's up to you.

Go back +-25 years.

American support responded in under 24h. SA team didn't bother after 4 days and subsequent emails.

Honestly f-them.

It always worked for me and has worked for Ecoflow US. It still works now with everyone else.

I see there is brand loyalty here to the point of insulting other users. Let me check... no it's not the Apple subforum. :) You guys need to chill a bit.

New model from Bluetti: AC180.

Looks comparable with the Ecoflow Delta 2. The AC180 does not support Wifi unfortunately (only BT).

It's superior to the Delta 2 because it has a higher capacity battery.
The Wifi thing is unnecessary.

I also have a Bluetti 500Wh unit and it's doing well after a year. Only powers a laptop.

Hirschs is having a 16% discount off everything today.

Hirschs Ecoflow

Good price. If someone wants to buy, get at that price. I think cheaper prices for D2s are going to be very rare.
The good news is that Hirsch will handle the 5 year warranty probably, so you return the unit to them, although you should register on the EF's website.

According to their replay the batteries balance according to voltage.
How would you have preferred they do it instead?

I don't know... so that they're used together the way their materials claim. I ran the unit down 30% and the battery did not output anything, numerous times. Maybe their BMS is sh-t because it needs 3x calibrations? And it's on the newest firmware.

Keep on defending them for your brand loyalty.

DELTA 2 and its Extra Battery charge and discharge in unison. Recharging from portable solar panels, AC outlets, or our Smart Generator is easy.

You do know the included manual don't mention anything else?

Lol. How did I defend them? I have criticised them before because of the overload issue on this very thread.

You ran the unit down to 30%? And the extra battery did not run down?

I think part of the problem could be that the battery percentage indicator is just an estimate. It is very hard to accurately gauge the percentage via a voltage reading with Lifepo4.

As an example: on a 12v lifepo4: 13.6v = 100%, 13.4v = 99% and 13v = 30%.
