These Pretty units with 2kwh and yet you can get 2.5kwh for 17k less


That is a good price!

Is it a lithium-ion battery or lithium iron phosphate?
 
Just posted on another thread that i just got the Gizzu 296. Charging time is loooooong

Also on 1Bar battery, it couldnt even charge my phone which is concerning since the Low Battery flashing icon wasnt even on!

Giving it a full sloooow charge to see.

Ive read a couple stories, well reviews on takealot of some of these Gizzus catching fire!
Hope mine is safe

Did I read you can replace the batteries on them or was that another brand?

Oh and can you insure a Power Station? Probably not huh?

I think you can Insure it, most things people put onto there insurance, so cant think why not. You pay for the insurance so they must be able to insure it
 
Pretty much everything these days is LiFePO4. Only NMC I know of is Tesla PowerWall and Hubble AM2.
Plus the hubble am-2 stretches the cycles by only using the nmc in cycle where it doesn't actually charge full or empty

Full is 53.6v which is 4.12 not the normal full of li-ion of 4.2v
And empty is 3.38v not the normal 3v cut-off many suggest

Though i don't want the nmc in my house , if in garage maybe

I believe(salt) there is also huawei isitepower-m that also uses li-ion

100% of these 12V lead acid replacement types are LFP chemistry.
 
On the hubble am-2

So 100% full on cells (13 cells) would actually be 54.6v

And empty would be 39v

So the bottom clearly makes a bigger difference to cell degradation as they stay further away from empty with a 5v buffer , while at the top only have a 1v buffer

Yea the li-ion voltage does not lend itself to 12/24 voltage batteries you sacrifice to much of the usable capacity with lead acid voltages

You lose less on the 24v (3s)vs the 12v (7s)


They are however perfect for 36/72v systems

On the 10s config you get most of the li-ion cycle

Not mamy of those systems or batteries gor that matter though

It works with 24V and higher which is in lead acid charger range, just not 12V.

24 / 3.7 = 6.48

24 x 7 cells = 25.9V nominal voltage (12.95V in 12V speak)
4.2V x 7 = 29.4V (14.7V in 12V speak)

Yea most chargers will stop before that 29.4v but yea you only lose about 5-6% of usable capacity which isn't too bad
 
You need to find out what the power draw is from your devices to work out how many Wh you will be using and so how long your batteries will last. Power stations never give you the full Wh as advertised, so bank on 90% max.

If you find that the 1229Wh (1106Wh) is too little for your purposes I can highly recommend the Ugreen Powerroam GS2200 2200W/2048Wh. But get it at Loot for R26 888 or somewhere else, R2000 cheaper than Takealot.

It is probably the best power station on the market right now.
Just got one of these based on your recommendation. Very pleased with the unit despite some issues during setup. Right out the box, I connected to mains using a clearline surge protector to begin initial charge. I immediately heard a shock and pop sound with display showing charging at 2100W( higher than the max 1800W). I quicky unplugged, and reconnected to another wall outlet without the surge protector. No sounds but still charging at 2100W. I then reconnected the surge protector and connected to the original wall outlet. Still no shock/pop but still charging at 2100W. However, as the battery percentage increased, the the charge wattage dropped to 1600W and below. All is functioning okay now. Only concern is the temperature at 40-42°C. Outlawjoseywales,did you have a similar experience? What is your current operating temperature?

Hi, yeah I was also worried about the 2100W charging, but just let it go.
As you said it came down the fuller the battery went.
I will email them tomorrow and ask about that - I have had prompt responses from them from 2 emails thus far.
If you are worried, get the app and switch on Quiet Mode it will slow charge at low wattage
I highly recommend getting the app, it is very useful.
I also recommend switching on Battery Preservation Mode.
Loving the unit though, couldn't be more happy, it is performing way better than expected.

If switchover time matters that much nothing beats zero switchover time of online ups

But yea as long as nothing reboots whatever it is ,it's fast enough

Yeah, I use a double conversion online ups for my pc. This is sufficient to keep my fridge running

Was there a firmware update available?
