Porting before contract expiry

So I want to port my mtn number to telkom but my contract only expires in December.

Can I do this? In the interim can I transfer the original contract to a new mtn sim and number to use up the contract until December?

It was possible, the new mtn number would be randomly allocated by them. Then you can port out your primary number. It's a few hoops to jump through.

Yep you'll need to escalate, I gave up on the process as only senior staff were able to assist and they're always unavailable.
