Porting from Cell C to MTN

My wife is currently porting from Cell C to MTN in order to make use of Afrihost. She was on a Cell C contract but went over to prepaid on the 1st of November.

Yesterday morning she purchased an MTN sim and the MTN guy helped her to do the port. She got an SMS from Cell C saying that the porting is going to happen.

Now more than a day later and the Cell C sim is till active.

Is there anything we must do? Do we just have to wait it out?

Our job is just to release your number once you have initiated the port.

Have you contact MTN to find out if there are any issues on their side?

No we haven't contacted anyone yet. Not sure who I should contact regarding this.

I'm so tired of struggling with stuff that's supposed to just work. :(
 
Are you sure the port hasnt happened anyway?

I ported once and BOTH sim cards got network connectivity, the old SIM was not disabled - however other than login to the network the old one couldnt do anything more.

If both SIMs are coming online try calling the number, it may just run on the MTN SIM.,

That's interesting, thanks! I'm hoping that by tomorrow morning it'll be fine. :) Will see if you are maybe right otherwise.

Thanks. It looks like it may have ported. The phone stopped working with the Cell C sim card. Unfortunately due to work will only be able to check a bit later.

I want to port from cellc to mtn, but I'm 3 months with them, there isn't waiting time perhaps, I'm scared my number might be ruined.
