I currently have a Telkom prepaid number : nr_A
I also currently have a MTN 24 month contract (21 months left) : nr_B

Can I port nr_A to MTN, then overwrite nr_B with nr_A

thanks in advance

You will first have to port the Telkom Mobile no to MTN Prepaid, then they can add a prepaid number to a contract if it is already with MTN. This is what happned with me. Have to add my contract wasn't activated yet and I waited for all the porting to be done before I activated, I don't know if it is possible with a contract that has already been activated.

I'm wanting to do this too (except from FNB, but that shouldn't make a difference)! Really hope it's possible

What you are basically looking at is an MSISDN swap, the logistic nightmare version:crylaugh:. What you are looking at cant be done because once you swap the cell number the previous cell number is disabled for 6 months, then reintegrated back into the network.
