We are looking at the positive developments in the telecoms and IT space in 2008. We would like to get your opinions as to what you think were the most positive developments over the last year – this can include new services launched, price reductions, hardware releases etc.

It will be great if you can post your comments in this thread.

  • 65% data price reduction from Vodacom for its 3G/HSDPA services
  • Launch of 3.6 Mbps HSDPA and HSUPA by Vodacom & MTN
  • Launch of HSDPA service by Telkom
  • Price cuts by iBurst

@ the bottom of the barrel already - must have been a tough year :)

the Altech decision & the demise of the choking yoke of "managed" "liberalisation"

1) The VANS to IECNS court ruling
2) ISPs going back to offering local cap (but it should still be uncapped)
3) Neotel's entry into the market.
