I think the people who get their first bill should be more worried about that!

Whilst I have had problems, and the only place I've ever really got the answers is here (as opposed to the theoretically more direct options), I've been impressed with the fact that Vodacom does pay attention to the problems - at least on this forum. And I genuinely believe they do work on solving problems - not just sweeping them under the carpet.

Thanks especially to the efforts of v3g on this forum. If it was not for you, Vodacom would have lost me as a customer some time ago already.

Just carrying on the positivity, I signed up for 3G about a week after it was launched. Other than the fact that I was (then) in a poor reception area, I have been very happy with the service. As for value for money...

I gave up my ISDN line straight away when I signed up. This saved me R2500 per month and ......I don't have to deal with Telkom any more! Not ever! Never!

I smile when I think about Vodacom 3G. I think I am in love.

Now, how about rollover? Please? Pretty please? Just so I don't have to spend 1 week in every four being paranoid?

I can only say good things about the service from Vodacom, then again, I've avoided the data help desk simply cos i knew v3g was here, and that I'd get much better service this way which I have done. Admittedly I've only needed it once, and since then I haven't had any problems... or at least anything that lasted for more than 20 mins.

I would normally be asking for rollover as well... but lately I've found the 1gb to be kinda over by the 20th(even with me being all cautious about what i do online)... so please please please please pretty please with cherry's and a lil red bow on top, can we have cheaper data prices.. :)

Sounds like I may have just been one of the lucky one's - haven't had too many hassles with the network when I've been using it. I got my first 3G card (Option) in Jan 2005 and had very few hassles with it. Then swopped out to the Nozomi HSPDA card this year when the offer for a free swop out was made. Again, I have been very satisfied with it.

Granted, there have been quite a number of problems which at times have been extremely frustrating, but then one just needs to remember that any new system is going to have it's teething problems - and 3G/HSPDA is relatively new technology wherever you go in the world. My guess is that Voda got caught with their pants down and did not expect such an enormous uptake, and have been struggling to build the network fast enough to satisfy the demand. At least they are doing something else we'd all still be stuck with Telkom .

I say thanks to V3g and ALL the guys (and gals) at Voda for making my life so much easier. My job sees me travelling throughout the country (especially KZN) and my time is now so much more productive with not having to wait till I get back to the office to do everything.

Keep up the good work VodaCom and please try and iron out the hassles soon and give your clients a stable mobile data network to be proud of. :D

I've had 3G since October last year. It has been one year since and I also took advantage of the free HSDPA card swap-out. I haven't had too many problems but when there was a problem, I would simply 'disconnect' and go read a book or go for a drive. It's a mobile service and will have it's problems.

I went with VC 3G/HSDPA as I move around a lot (don't live in the same place for very long hence DSL was outta the question) and needed a mobile internet connection. VC has suited me very well albeit a little more expensive than I would like.

Also a big thank you to V3G for all his help with any of my problems as well as everyone else's problems. :)
