possible, calls on HP laptop through 3G?

I am using HP laptop nx6110 and wanted to get 3G from vodacome ,my need for using 3G is to use ViOP calls from my laptop when i am not at ADSL. so the question is : is it possible to make calls from my laptop using 3G.pls give me an Idea on that

i am using softphones , one from x-lite and the other one is from one of voip providers softphones .
Still i didn't choose which one to take either 3g or hsdpa .

Well HSDPA's obviously better and the data itself is the same price, the only advantage of 3G is that the hardware will be slightly cheaper.

Hi Syndyre, is VOIP charged at a different rate over Vodacom's 3G/HSDPA network? I am scared I am going to get a huge bill at the end of the month if I start to use it over my 2Gig Databundle (with USB modem).

No it'll just come off your bundle, no differential pricing. :)

Do you know if MTN is pricing it the same? I've read somewhere about R10/MByte if you use it for VOIP purposes, but I can't remember where I read it.

MTN "reserve the right to charge", including backbill AFAIK. They don't at the moment but personally I wouldn't want to take a chance.
 
Use Fring and you can make VOIP directly from your phone, provided you have the right phone! It works great with Skype. Go get it at fring dot com

That's my reason for asking whether VOIP is being charged at a higher rate. I use Fring on my P990. It works really well.
