Post all your iOS6 issues here

Guys

Try changing the encryption from TPIK to AES on your wifi AP's (if possible). I've done it this morning, and it seems to work.

Just need to verify that it really is a simple setting.

Historically I have always used AES without problems so hopefully that fixes it for you.
Any particular reason why fragmentation threshold is not set to default?

Playing around with the settings to see if performance can be improved. Any recommendations?

Aaargh... it WAS AES here but then I changed it when the iDevices began to wobble and my router fiddling started.

Ta OOk. Will see if iPad plays nicely today on AES.

Pleasure.

Do let know if it resolved the issue.

If not, create new SSID, and try with AES on new SSID.

So far so good... no howls of disconnect from the kids youtubing yet... I am sure that as soon as there is a disconnect, ooooh yes, I will be subtly alerted.

EDIT: Just as an aside... I switched to my free 1GB Afrihost account this morning for a comparative speed test, and left it on this... the kids have youtubed through nearly 600MB this morning !!! :wtf: JUST on youtube. My my my, what a huge spike these 1Mb line speed upgrades have produced.

/makes a reminder
/switch back to uncapped

AM also on uncapped. Want to get the kids' PC on the network for them.

What do you use to block porn sites? I'm using Smoothwall with URL filter. Blocks also other nasty sites.

WRT porn stoppage... safe search strict for the googles, some router level domain block and an ever alert ear !
For the rooted android a host file with advertising / porn / casino etc blocked.
The iPad is my brother's, unjailbroken, so I know not what he has enabled / disabled.

Vigilance is the key with a stern warning that if they stray onto the "grown-ups interwebz", strict banhammer for tablet privileges for some time.
So far so good, they seem to be self policing and the browsing / youtube history is porn free thus far.

I'll just go and create another thread rather ;)

AES has seemed to have fixed the iOS6 iPad issues !

Thanx OOk!!

Didn't read the thread, but my personal hotspot stopped working on iphone after iOS6 update. Other devices either didn't connect or connected with "limited functionality". Ipad and laptop that worked previously failed to connect.

Read up today and a simple "reset - network settings" solved the problem, all good again.

Interesting - so it is not limited to a simple TPIk/AES setting... Apple devs must have had a fun week :D

Wifi is not 100%.

But it's a whole lot better than sukkeling to connect the whole time.

Either I'll have to wait till Apple rolls out a proper fix, or for next year when I can purchase a proper AP via the work... *sigh*

Ya Ook... Wifi much better... still drops on the iPad but now reconnects in one or two attempts. Before it would not reconnect at all. IPhone seems hundreds with encryption change... all other devices no problems.
