Post Office website down for days

Useless waste of time that place, parcel arrives here and a month later its cleared.
Between them and customs its a joke
And the CEO is an even bigger joke

I had hopes that Mark Barnes would make the SAPO functional again, but clearly he hasn't done anything.

How will they pay the social grants?

The thing I find hilarious is that the Post Office had big plans to become South Africa's official digital certificate authority (like SSL, e-mail and personal certificates). Despite these high aspirations, they can't even keep a domain active.

Oh, turn out they have become a CA: https://www.trustcentre.co.za/
TRUST CENTRE - Powered by the SA Post Office
Not a single word in that sentence inspires confidence.

Oh man the irony is just too rich!

Pravin Gordhan must just fire the whole lot and privatize the post office. They will sort it out quickly once they have to turn a profit.

SAPO have such a great business opportunity in the palm of their hands and don't care to throw it away.

Someone paid it yesterday, but nothing resolves under the domain still.

9 weeks for a priority air mail letter from London to here. Did not need to go through customs even.

How much of that time was local?

I'm waiting for a small parcel from china via singapore post, it took a few days to get to sa but has been lying in jhb for 3 weeks already. Cooler master sent me a normal envelope on 2jan which only arrived 16mar.

Back in the mid to late 80's i traded amiga wares & demos with people all over the eu, nz & aus. Mail from the eu took about 7 days, nz/aus took about 11-14 days. All these went through customs with their little green stickers. I sent & received many packages every week, they were always on time, nothing in those days was ever stolen or lost.

Things have gone seriously backwards since those days!
