Whoring is not about numbers, it's about reputation.
Once labeled a whore, getting rid of that reputation is where the true skill lies, and, no killa, this approach will not work.

Some forumites do have an unhealthy obsession with post counts, and would probably go completely bonkers if their own post count was invisible.
It would be insightful to first see what happens if post counts are not displayed for a period of say 7 days, before any decision is made collectively by forumites and rpm as to whether or not post counts should be permanently hidden.
I'm personally in favour of not displaying post counts, luckily it's not a decision I can nor would want to make.
I think it would be cool to not have a post count as well, but perhaps keep the newbie/master/grandmaster/Sgrandmaster stuff.. or a date joined.

Some of us are immersive, ie we're online permanently (some of us since the very beginning), we have good multi-tasking skills, and enjoy bantering about with pals while crafting.
I've been gardening, took my dog for a walk, cleaned the kitchen, read several news sites and attacked a village in TW, all while being here too

I post 4.9~ 5 posts a day... but they all are bloody useless, if not the worst posts your eyes will have to endure passing over... does that make a whore?

I think if post counts were invisible people would go crazy
I think they should stay visible, to me post count shows to me if this person contributes to a forum. Lets say if post counts were invisible I see a guy who joined 2, 3 years ago, you would think wow this guy has probably contributed a lot due to his join date but actually on has 5 posts and those 5 are competition entry posts. It also helps with sales, if you see a person ahs lots of posts and has been here long enough you would want to do a with him. Instead of a guy who has been here for 2 years but only has 1 post, but you wouldn't see that 1 since its invisible.
