i was curious to see what sort of speeds people are getting on their FTTH connections, and to my horror I didn't find what I assumed would surely be the sticky thread of speed test results. Browsing through a bunch of topics, I didn't find many either. Is everyone still waiting for installation?

For those that do have their fibers every day, please post your speedtest results (link the image) and state your ISP, connection, whatever other relevant detail.

My Norwegian colleagues are always quite shocked to find how slow our connection is.

its in the speedtest result- lightspeed

sorry, was blind again. LOL

See now the offer they give. Not really suitable for my needs though, caps are way to low for my usage during the day, as that is mainly when I play games online. Or streaming TV series.

But still very good pricing for the average user.

do you work for them, or how are you paying R400pm uncapped, I cannot find it anywhere on their website

I've posted my connection history in a few posts.

I basically got the 30 people they needed to install. At the time it was an off the shelf product but now they have made it a formal product and marketing as we see now.

What sort of connections do they have? I'm pleasantly surprised by how fast some you guys' connections are. I've not really paid attention to connectivity in SA, since i live abroad. I've been vaguely aware of FTTH trials a few years back, but I didn't think it would come to fruition so quickly!

For what it's worth, I lived in the UK until last year, and had BT FTTC (VDSL with the cab sitting right 20m from my front door) with the fastest available subscription: 80/20. To be fair, I got all of it, it was uncapped and unshaped, never slowed down, so I can't complain.

Starting this thread was somewhat self-serving: I've recently decided to take over my parents connectivity expenses and get them something decent. Mum has 1mbit ADSL - uncapped for R99 p/m, so you can imagine the shaping and overselling going on there. Dad has dial-up, lives far from his POP and gets 28k on a good day). This looks like it can make a big improvement to their lives. :D
