Postal problems strike again

How facking hard is it to stop theft?! Just search everyone that leaves the P.O! I dont understand why SAPO doesnt deliver larger items to your door. They should! USPS does it with those dinky little vans - we can do it!

Wait, these are the guys who a lot of consumers are having problems with in that their stock is being confiscated by customs as being counterfeit.

EDIT: The problem is not SAPO but Customs and game distributors if I remember

I am still waiting for my Jack Daniels T-Shirt that I won from Jack Daniels Auction House 2 months ago.

Some postal worker must be very proud of himself for stealing it.

Bunch of thiefs...

They do, justs cost you more than a R2 stamp though and how else are the poor SAPO staff going to support their families :D

Maybe it's not the PO...

The finger should be pointed directly at all the local gamers who have taken ShopTo for a ride by claiming their packages have been lost when there has been a delay and then not returning the original package when it does arrive.

ShopTo.net have confirmed that they have blocked all new South African clients from signing up for their service due to an unacceptable level of missing packages, however for the moment they are not going to cancel existing users accounts unless that user has submitted multiple missing parcel claims.

This year so far I have lost:

2 x Ubiquiti T shirts.
1 x Nokia Premicell - net weg, there's no record of the UK tracking number arriving at Customs in Belville.
1 x 4GB CF card.

4 out of 34 parcels. That's 11% that have gone missing.

Fortunately these okes are dom. They steal T shirts and not fibre optic media converters.

Not easy if the the person that search you is a criminal as well;) They should install a lot of cameras and catch the persons red handed.

The culture of Theft, corruption and entitlement is so pervasive in South Africa, this will not be solved in the short term. Maybe in ten years when Zuma's crackdown on crime has begun to pay off. Don't look for a short term solution. BTW, this is why our telecomms are so high. It is the same thing. Greed, theft, entitlement. It is not a cultural problem, it is not a race problem... it is a general South African problem.

Everything I have ordered online has always eventually arrived.
And I have ordered a lot of stuff online over the years.
I bet you the major problem with Amazon and this retailer is that South Africans do receive their goods but then claim them as missing to score a refund.

Story of our lives in SA. All thieves should have their hands cut off IMO. That way we'll know how the thieves are when we walk around.

I would never use SA Post office again to ship goods

The first and last time that i used speed service courier was to send a PDA to a bidder who purchased it from me via Bid or Buy about 2 years ago. This parcel just never arrived.. Good old sticky fingers in the SA Postal Service.. I will never use them again to ship goods....!!!

Pushplay.co.za also does not want to ship to my P.O. Box at Cresta Shopping Centre because of theft of the dvd's. The P.O. Box also started to delay the dvd's and it is also why Pushplay.co.za stopped sending me dvd's

I never had problems ordering from bidorbuy.co.za and rabtron.co.za and I always ask for the tracking no when I place a order

Tell me about it.

Two out of every three parcels that comes my way from the UK never makes it here, especially if there is something to eat inside.

Well said & to the point. Pity the South African problem gets aggravated by new arrivals from neighboring countries, sadly these bodies add a sizable contribution to the overall problem.

Yeah well we'll see how long Amazon.com continues to ship to South Africa -- won't be long before the rampant theft starts again and Amazon simply stops shipping

My international parcels never arrive these days if I don't use a traceable shipping method.

Guess they steal all parcels without tracking numbers... and divide it amongst staff after business hours

my sentiments exactly. i think ppl hide behind SAPO/whoever else to hide their thieving ways.
