Paypal verified address is the problem. they only ship to paypal verfified addresses and I guess they pick up the non usa addy.

Try searching for EP2C602+Asrock .
 
I've just ordered some Blu-rays from Amazon.com and requested they be shipped to the US depot. Will post my feedback here.
 
Ok, Amazon.com have split my order up into 2 packages. I've sent off an e-mail to [email protected] asking them to please be aware of this and to please collate my packages into 1 delivery. I've not heard back from them as yet. Is there another e-mail address that Gary has?

No worries, he will get back to you. I often ask him to collate deliveries, sometimes up to five different suppliers.

Thanks. He just replied. I don't think that Gary gets mails from GMail addresses, so I used my work e-mail address instead, and he replied back within a minute! That's fast!!! :)

I ordered a bunch of hardcovers from http://dcbservice.com . They were delivered to Postbox-Courier's US depot on Friday, 15 Nov. Those of you who collect comic books / TPB's / HC's will know that DC's Absolute Editions are the bees knees. I got 3 Absolute Editions (All-Star Superman, Sandman vol. 1 and Batman: The Long Halloween), as well as Grant Morrison's New X-Men: Omnibus and the Deluxe Edition of The Sword. All bloody heavy, but definitely worth it.

The parcel left the US depot on Sunday night / Monday morning, and it was in my hands on Wednesday (20 Nov) afternoon. Thank you, Gary and Postbox Courier! I'll definitely be using your services again.
 
I see the minimum delivery fee is 30 USD or 10 GBP (R310 vs R170). So its much cheaper from the UK. Maybe that should be in the OP.

Need to buy an item that's about 10 GBP, unfortunately can't find anyone that ships it here. So i'm going to go the Postbox route.

I think you'll find that most of us will order multiple items if the original value is less than the shipping fee. You will always find a friend that needs something from either the UK or USA.

Not all shipments to the California depot attracts tax. Amazon shipments will but all the other companies that I've bought from have not charged me CA tax (9.5%).

You may have to pay VAT plus import duties but this all depends on the goods and the deemed value.

Sometimes it's cheaper to get the supplier to ship directly so every purchase has to be evaluated.

I cannot ship my item directly, as there is a restriction on shipping outside the US. On checkout, it added the CA tax. How would I be able to find out if I will need to pay VAT and import duties once it arrives here? it is not electronics, and can be classified as sporting equipment I reckon

AFAIK you'll always need to pay VAT. You can phone customs, tell them what you're receiving, and they can advise you. I've done it before for some tennis rackets and they're actually (surprisingly) quite helpful.

Why not cost in the expense of VAT and then if it doesn't happen buy pizza.
 
lol, good idea, but if the cost to get the stuff here becomes more than the price of the product, I don't think I will go ahead with it.

You can't look at it like this. The only determining factor is whether or not it's cheaper than buying locally.

If you need the item then the landed cost is what it is.
