PostBox-Courier.com how to

Update:

You won't need to change the address every time to include the parcel ID, so the address will be fixed both in the UK and the USA. The consolidation is not live yet and Gary hopes for a 4 day turnaround which will be brilliant.

He has a trial shipment being delivered to the Florida depot to test the system and then he'll probably go live very soon.

With the ongoing post office strike, does this mean that we cannot use USPS and EMS shipping methods (EMS is the shipping method of choice from Tenso)? Should I rather go with FedEx and / or DHL?

All my recent parcels have been delivered even though the Post Office is on strike. When handling courier parcels as opposed to posted parcels, the local branch office is bypassed and I think that's where some of the backlog is sitting.

My last Post Office handles parcel was delivered about two weeks ago. Was the strike on then?

I heard that the post office depots are on strike. According to a recent News24 article, a depot in Soweto was burnt down.

While I'm not waiting for any couriered packages, I am waiting for parcels from the UK posted courtesy of Royal Mail.

The strike has caused no delivery of mail at all to me in the past 2 weeks. I have one item at present between Capemail and local branch.

That is good news indeed. I've sent a large parcel to the new USA depot so I'll report back on the experience.

Can't wait to go back to postbox courier. Used stackery, and it's been a month since I sent my parcels. The just says it's in Germany now.

Mine says
Frankfurt, DE Departed Terminal Location

Frustrating. I've now asked Gary if I can ship from Stackry to the UK depot to avoid the local natives. Just not sure what the VAT and duties implications are.

Unfortunately they use DHL Global Mail for their cheapest option. Not the most efficient standard postal service on the planet. Then when it gets to South Africa it has to be processed by the South African postal service, which is going to be slow too if they're on strike.

Yeah for the same price Gary would have had it here in less then a week.

I am using Parcel Monkey and Asendia Courier to bring my parcel from Ireland to here. It was only 34 pounds so interested to see how long it takes to arrive and the parcel has been picked up today from the seller

Why both? Won't Parcel Monkey use one of their partners to get the stuff to you?

It is parcel monkeys partner and was cheaper through PM than straight through Asendia.

Not sure why Yodel picked up the parcel to take it to the depot, they must be used for parcel pickup or something for Asendia.

Ah thanks. Let us how it goes. Do they deliver to your door?

Looking forward to the update. Include what you paid for clearing and if VAT was levied.

Ta.

if a friend in the US want to send me 2 sticks of PC RAM, whats the cheapest way to send it?
