PostBox-Courier.com how to

It doesn't matter what order you work out the VAT or duties, what is important is that both are levied on the total cost which is item cost plus shipping costs.

Looks like the USA depot's address has changed again.

Wish Gary would at least send out an email about this.

United States
Rapid Postbox
750 South Glasgow Avenue
Inglewood
California

I believe it is an effort to speed up the process on that end, at least that is what Gary told me.

I agree with that but what if I had ordered something this weekend from Amazon and delivered the stuff to New Jersey? Do I need to keep checking the depot addresses every time I want to deliver something?

This is now the third USA address in about three months.

Gary said he is still going to be getting stuff from New Jersey, so it shouldn't be a problem if it is already shipped to that address.

Best would be to check the depot address each time you order I guess. I hear you though.

I find the shipping very reasonable from the UK but the USA shipping is still expensive.

Although the GBP is stronger than the USD, I have to take into account the cheaper UK shipping and sometimes it works out even stephens.

Funny how some items sourced from the UK are cheaper in the USA. Guess it's their buying power.

Anyway, overall happy with Gary's service and will continue to use him.

That's the amazing thing about US postal services and couriers - Cali vs East coast - it's all the same and doesn't impact much on time.

Evenin Chaps, I am hoping to get some input from your past experiences.

I am looking at importing 1x Norco RPC4224, 1 x Denon AV Receiver+ 3 x Roku 3 via Amazon - facilitated by Postbox-Courier.com.

What is the largest item any of you peeps have brought through via postbox-courier?

What has the service been like for this large item - I am specifically seeing what it is like when ordering an item other than a small package.

Your input is appreciated.

My last batch of car parts came on a trolley, so that was decently big. Same quick efficient service as usual.

A lot of online stores charge state tax, even Amazon, when shipping to California.

Also they offer no insurance, so if someone at airline cargo or at their depot takes a fancy to your parcel or damages it, you screwed.

Easier just to find ebay sellers that ship direct.

Yes PBC just cost me an additional 9.5% by moving to California. Starts to add up.

indeed, CA is a hassle with tax and other issues. they had hassles with the people in NJ, which is a pity.

VAT and duty is levied on the shipment value and not cost of shipping. Shipping is VAT and duty free.

That TV is $1099.99, you save $499 dollars from the normal price of $1500

220-electronics.com

Their stuff is 220v-240v rated.

I bought a region free Bluray player from these guys. It plays all my US/Japanese and EU/South African blurays which are otherwise region locked. I think Bombay may also do TVs. 220 does TVs for sure.

220 requires you to wire them the money or fax/email them a scan of your credit card. They ship to South Africa so it may be cheaper to use them instead of postbox.

How much was the shipping from Bombay Electronics? Just curious as I see a Blu-ray player that I'd like to have. :)
