PostBox-Courier.com how to

USPS express will deliver to your door, USPS priority will deliver to your nearest post office for collection

Isn't it called 'USPS Economy'?

I shipped something directly from a supplier 2 months ago, he sent it with USPS Priority, had to collect it from nearest post office, and pay duties there. I could be wrong, but I think these are the USPS options:

USPS Express: Sapo delivers to your door via speedservices courier
USPS priority: 7-10 business days, insurance and tracking, must collect from post office.
USPS economy, 7-14 days, no insurance on package, only small packages can be sent with this.

I see on Stackry that in account settings there is reference to a USPS 1583 doc.Would I need to complete this?

Not sure what that is and I didn't need to fill it in.

I plan to use Shipito for an order (or 3) later this month. I'll let this thread know how it goes.

In Cape Town, it's a seperate dedicated EMS courier. Maybe in your area it's the SS van but here it's an EMS marked van.

Yeah I don't think we have an ems office here like in CPT. I think I am going to order one package with Shipito, and the other with Stackry, give them both a go.

Tracking states it's currently at Johannesburg customs. Was actually quite quick :)

The time frame:
30 March: Shipito account set-up
5 April: Delivery from Amazon to Shipito depot in Minden, NV
5 April: Payment for postage/photos taken
7 April: Courier pick-up from depot
8 April: Tracked at Los Angeles airport
9 April: South Africa customs

And I chose TNT Economy :p

When you signed up, did you need to upload your ID and utility bills or something?

--edit, sorry, I know you mentioned it in a post, but it seems like they want 2 forms of ID, utility bills AND a 1538 form to be filled in

Does anyone know of similar services in New Zealand and / or Australia? I know that Gary / Postbox Courier did have an Aussie presence, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside.

Well, Shipito received my package this morning. One nice thing about them is that they have 24 hours support/live chat available. The downside is having to upload your ID if they need it. In my case, My account name is not exactly the same as my credit card details name. When signing up, be sure to use the same name as your credit card.

I selected TNT express for shipping, so will see how it goes. The shipping fees including photos and Shipito's fees is $138

So they only ask for your ID if the account name is not the same as credit card name?

seems like it yes, I registered and paid the $5 deposit, but when I wanted to add money for postage I had to verify first.

they can still put your account on hold though but I think they need a reason to do it.

Just an update on my Shipito and TNT experience:

The package is now at customs here. TNT phoned me yesterday and sent me a form to fill in. Did that, and the status is now "held customs, awaiting duties payment from receiver. I mailed them last night to find out how I can pay them for it, but will most likely only be read on Monday. I will call them on Monday to check up.

Shipito took about a day to move the package to their california branch, and TNT moved it from there to JFK to here in a surprisingly quick time.
