Hmmm...with the big increase in planned maintenance, I think this is only realistic when the three Kusile units come back online in November. Likely to see more Stage 4s in the near term.

Could mean catching up and saving diesel, could mean repairs, could mean they slipped re hidden maintenance (again), who knows.
They've got to put up some pretense that it's under control again.

ESP just posted (9pm) stage 4 all day on Sunday, following the loss of additional units.

Stage 4 load-shedding extended Eskom has announced it will implement stage 4 load-shedding during most of the daytime hours on Sunday, 3 September 2023. The utility said it lost an additional four generating units on Saturday and needed to replenish emergency reserves.

Came back after a couple of weeks away and found that City Power has put a massive generator on my front gate by their box, no idea what is going on, but the end result is that I wasn't loadshed for the 2pm slot, waiting to see what happens with the 10pm slot.

The guy who does the refueling has been very punctual, I think he is very chuffed with city power not switching us off because they will be making a pretty penny with the diesel refills.

Continuous stage 4 load-shedding until Sunday

Still does not change the fact that we only have electricity certain hours of a day. It changes the fact that we don't have it on for only a few hours a day. On the contrary, we're off for a few hours a day. Beyond stage 6 you could probably make the argument that we're only on for a few hours...
