Oh we'll get a surprise good announcement before the elections without a doubt...

I would be surprised if they don't try and run everything into the ground so there is no LS around the election period.
You can’t run things into the ground that are already in the ground.

That's still more of a myth than fact. Remember we heard from experts that current tech can keep old powerhouse tech going properly.
So it's a matter of how well the maintenance has been done.. by now they must have surely realised it's worth at least doing it fairly well in the longer run.

The outlook will definitely improve LS wise once the three Kusile units are back online (November/December), worth about 2GW (2 stages of LS). Even if they break down intermittenly, as I expect, they will at least provide a lot of power when actually functional. Right now we are getting 0GW from those three plants, and that has been the case since October 2022.

This year it was better than July 2022
No it wasn't, there was 1 week that was better, but in July 2022 there was a strike

Notice in July 2022 it was 60.2% in July 2023 it was 57.1% I know maths in SA is limited now, but that is lower. In fact it's been lower every month this year compared to last year. In fact EAF started going down again in July.

1 week or two weeks, it was still higher than it was last year

No it wasn't, or can you not count, in total July was 57% in July 2022 it was 60%, so it doesn't matter if 1 week was higher, overall the entire July it was lower. So EAF isn't improving and as you can clearly see it's dropping again like crazy. Not even sure where the old Muppet of Leccy says it was closer to 70% as now it's closer to 50% again

EAF was improving back in July
What an achievement. It improved slightly over winter with lower maintenance. What do you know, when you don't take units offline to maintain them they're available when you need power. This some Steven Hawking level stuff.

So... is EAF improving or is it not?

Is it improving relative to last year?

ADR left us with an EAF of 45%, anything above that is an improvement

So to be clear, you're claiming EAF is improving yes?

August last year, under ADR, we had an EAF of 60%... this year it was 56%.

Is this some use of the word "improvement" I was previously unaware of?

Actually you're wrong there again. I mean can you count? Just take a look at last year, he was hovering around 60%, until he basically just threw in the towel, if you're going by the current lot, we will be at 45% soon, which isn't what Andre left us at. He left it was at 50.5%

He is claiming cause 1 week in July the EAF was higher, 1 week. That means it's improving.
