Weird numbers

Never seen a 1GW jump from 6pm to 7pm like that before and a drop of it again.
 
Skipped midnight to 2am, wonder if they sneaky sneaky suspending.
 
Back to no LS from 11 to 4pm, with my current lot from City Power it makes no difference, but friends down the road they don't have shedding till Friday.

So on Monday when it was supposedly almost stage 4, we had stage 2, tonight we could have stage 1? But they still stage 2??

They cannot base the stage of load shedding on solar or wind, non-dispatchable power cannot be factored into the demand/load forecasts due to their unpredicitable nature. Sure the rooftoop solar is probably driving demand down, which will contribute, but theirs or IPP solar will not effect the load shedding.

How unpredictable is it in summer really though? Also remember Eskom only do it for a 5h window, not the whole day.

This is the 23rd from 8am to 5pm, there are 200MW swings in an hour

Here is the 22nd over the same period, with slightly better swings,

The 21st for wind, so over a 3 day period the only thing we could say over these 3 days is you may get 2GW after 3pm, or it maybe only after 7pm from wind. On Solar you could almost get 2GW at 10am, or 1.8GW, but by 4pm it drops down to under a GW.
So you cannot for sure say that today at 3pm we will have 2GW of wind, we can assume at best. This lower shedding is due to demand being lower, mainly as 2023 got a lot of businesses and people to migrate over to shedding, it's why we see the higher shedding after 4pm, cause if it was up to wind we'd not be seeing them.

Both Mondays, but the differences are astounding. Demand has dropped due to Eskom basically driving us away,
