It's a change in mindset, that turns a 'tell me what to do' into seeing options everywhere you look.

The mind set has to do with equality before the law. Is anyone above the law? Ask yourself this question, honestly, and listen to the answer. I mean if you look at a society... doesn't have to be the one you live in. Is everyone de facto equal before the law? Ask someone else's employer: 'If your employee says, thanks for the offer but I will pay anyone I owe, that 20%, on my own.... what would you do?'

You have to believe in equality before the law, to understand what power you have to act.

If nobody is allowed to take a deduction from what you legitimately earned... that would be equality before the law.

If some are allowed, and not others... that is inequality before the law.

If you already accept that that you live in a society dogged with this problem, well, now ask: 'what can I do about that?'

p.s. bear in mind, if the above mindset is new to you, you're not looking for a light-switch, you're looking to escape contributing to the problem ('Learn to walk before you can run').
What have you, lexity, done to protect your "cultural values" (whatever that may mean) and get out of the thumb of the man? It seems your obscure philosophy is that of every man for himself and his personal culture. Why do you support cape independence if you're for your personal culture?

You need a break, not just from the internet. But from life.

I've cut all the pointless waffle out.

and now we come to the crux of the issue. The truth is that without companies actually deciding collectively they're going to perform a tax revolt, you, as some middle class salaried person, can't do a damn thing about it.

There you go.... the entitlement-minded brat demands he be shown the off-switch to authoritarianism.

Otherwise you're just a trouble-maker, insisting he can do something about the bad situation in which he finds himself.

Poor guy can’t comprehend such. They’ll just ramble on again how you need to hanger your mindset. Problem solved.

Porchrat: ain't no such thing as a solution that involves me.

Priapus: too true, homey, some people think our rights are somehow not granted to us by great, trustworthy men, that have our best interests at heart rather than theirs. Tsk, tsk... such hocus pocus. Aaaanyway.... paid your protection-racket subscription this month, yet?

There is an off switch. It's just very obviously in the hands of the companies.

The only thing you yourself could suggest was to ask the employer. That's not you doing something. It's ultimately the employer that does something.

I'm all in favour of the employer doing it. Pull the trigger. However it's largely out of my hands.

The companies will end up ruling us anyway, been predicted moons ago. Not that they don't already own most of us....

Come now... solutions? I'm all ears.

Just not ones involving me, okay?

This whole conversation started with you being asked to give an example of a solution that involves the average middle class Saffer. You going to provide one or just keep dodging?

So far all you've said is "ask the employer to do it for you".

He can't give a solution because there isn't one that doesn't involve the companies all banding together to pull the trigger, and lets be honest they won't do that.

I see you still enjoy banging your head against brick walls
