poweralert stage 2.....

Last Thursday (21st) we had that sudden imposition of LS to refill the dams so I was wanting to see just how low they got, but it seems they take their time updating that data as they're only up to the 19th for now:

But it's an interesting chart, incl seeing the OCGT total getting up to 2000MW, but I guess they can go even higher, at least for short periods:

Eskom OCGT:
Ankerlig (Atlantis, WC) - Diesel, 1327 MW
Gourikwa (Mossel Bay, WC) - Diesel, 740 MW
Acacia (CT, WC) - Kerosene, 171 MW
Port Rex (East London, EC) - Kerosene, 171 MW

IPP OCGT:
Avon (Shakaskraal KZN) - Diesel, 670MW
Dedisa (PE, EC) - Diesel, 335MW
 
So looks like it's suspended for now... Who knows how long but the power alert numbers look fantastic, ESP says it's suspended but the poweralert is still black, but it's all green otherwise.

Probably helped by like a 1/3 of JHB being off. Someone went around vandalizing substations last night for **** sake

Jokes aside I guess it's that winter maintenance ending

Ooook that wouldn't really make 3.3GW come online but sure... A third of JHB is down cause you're down. If you have a vandalised mini sub, you could be out for days. Hopefully not, hopefully after 3 months they've gotten more stock of them.
Nope it's the mythical 3,3GW they've been saying will come online for the last 3 weeks, it finally came online.

Could be all sorts of bits and pieces they've been hiding. The whole public info "effort" seems to largely be a scam more and more, and I don't believe they're capable of doing it so cleverererly, so either an expert team hired or some sort of puppet masters behind it.


*knows it's true but still puts on tinfoil hat :p*

Don't know why they just don't suspend it indefinitely if those mythical units came back
 
600MW drop, but also demand is also down a tad, might just be working on this
