Well they've been used in the past before all the hoopla and people didn't care back then. Now it's diesel diesel, it's like so what if they used the kerosene ones or the natural gas IPP ones?

Oh that factor, I guess most don't know they do more than diesel.

Well the diesel ones do generate 1900mw out of the 2600mw available so I guess that's why people jump up and down over it.

Isn't kerosene cheaper? Why not run them all off that? Also, how do you know the IPPs use LPG?

It doesn't have to make sense, we have been here long enough, all you need is to have supporters behind you who repeats the conspiracy after you, it's like what's going on between Zuma and his people, he says something, doesn't matter how ridiculous it is, a few of his trusted lieutenants repeats it after him and everyone falls in line.

Apologies for any exaggerations to @R13... and @TheChamp , BUT...

Since the conductors of this show (ANC in ALL respects) aren't known for their legitimacy or willingness to curb illegal activity much, why would anyone just take their word for it?

But people just scream, "they are maxing out their diesel use" without any consideration to any factual data, I have seen high IQ people here repeat the same line when not a single ocgt was used, it's like they are being taught somewhere that is what you have to say when you see a couple days pass without loadshedding, it's bizarre.

It is, but those are tiny units basically, for the ipps

You don't have to apologise to me, saying things that makes sense and are based on facts is to your own interest as a person who I assume values their self respect.

I have never asked you to believe what the ANC says, look at @Lupus, I am sure he is not an ANC supporter but he is still able to exercise very good judgment that is based on something, not even saying you should believe what the data he posts, but if you don't there should be something you base your assertions on, no? Otherwise it just becomes another conspiracy.

I mean, fill the tanks with kerosene instead of diesel. I though OCGTs can run on anything, even cooking oil?
