Im not sure how to respond to this. I wanted to just laugh. But somehow that feels inappropriate

We often bitch and complain about the power outages because no TV or no coffee or whatever. Tonight I’ve been made aware that to some the consequences are deadly.

From our local community. FML it’s a hard read.

I am devastated, furious, angry and emotionally finished.
I have just been informed that because of these continuous power outages we have had the first death in my ward.
A little girl only 3 years old, passed away while they were changing her oxygen supply to the bottle because the inverter had failed.
My sincere condolences go out to the parents and family.
Having lost a daughter myself recently this hurts even more.

I cleared it with the mother and will take this unbelievable failure by our government all the way to the top.

And in response to someone asking about hospitals or clinics being exempt.

The clinics, whilst having radiation about a year ago, the clinic experienced an outage on 3 occasions while I was in the middle of the radiation. When the generator kicked in they resumed the radiation. As a result my skin and one lung was burned resulting in COPD.

My areas power went off at 2pm today until 6:30... it came on 6:05pm and its now 9pm and its still off :(

And loadshedding again at 10pm until 12:30...

Battery is gonna die...
