Yup, if you ever want a perfect illustration of the detrimental (but perfectly understandable) effect of load-shifting, this is undeniable proof!

Can't speak for the rest of country but it's pretty darn cold in CT right now and has been for the whole weekend - certainly colder than last weekend.
 
How far along are we at Koeberg.
Unit 1 was having new turbines installed, approx. 9 months, started in January.
Unit 2 the last I heard (month ago maybe) was shut down due to a fault.

I'm thinking Unit 2 is back online, Unit 1 still busy.
Sorry if I got the Unit numbers mixed up.

Unit 1 is delayed as usual but should come back in august then they start on unit 2. Then when they finish unit 2 they have to take unit 1 down again for more work that couldn’t be done now probably because they work too slowly.

A bit of both in GP Saturday was a tad warmer as we didn't have rain. But not by much especially at that time.
Though this week we're scheduled for over 20s... Is this what Durban feels like? Warm days and no shedding for over 32 hours now. I actually ran off my batteries and solar for an entire day, bringing June usage so far down 2 units as we used the oven for roasts and quesillsadas

Unit 2 has been running for 2 months now
 
Glad you guys up north have warmer weather. Running the AC at the office full blast this morning. CT is very cold - winter is here!
 
Just for my thoughts on LS and the whole stage 6 by monday.

Yes, at 28/29 but:

  • Demand is supposed to hit around 33/34.
  • Sure its warmer in the day but that does not help peak because during the day more can be drawn from solar to supplement as well.
  • There is still a huge maintenance backlog that keeps getting pushed and pushed , so unless they use these lulls to do the maintenance, we are going to get bitten.
Personally, rather have a constant stage than bouts of nothing and use the excess capacity for maintenance.

Happily be wrong if so but that's my pessimistic thoughts.

Yeah, it is more stressful always waiting for the pin to drop.
